So the left half of my face has been hurting the last couple of days. It started to swell yesterday morning and early this morning (2am ish) I woke up to find it had swollen so badly that I now have no jawline from behind my ear to my chin. I can't open my mouth wide enough to eat or brush my teeth. I am going to the doctor soon but has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Wtf?

Best case scenario an infected lymph node. I am feeling crappier by the minute and now my ear hurts. I'm going to bed.

My main scar from my burn is healing, but it's healing in a kind of leopard print way - all dotty pigments inside the burn area. It's odd. And animal print was sooooo last year.

Sorry to hear you got a burn, tp. How did this happen? I may have missed something as I have been around very sporadically for the last 6 months.

Edit: Also, half of my face is still swollen up like a balloon. This sucks, I look like Quasimodo.

Did you go to the doctor yet?

Yeah, they said it could be mumps or mono but is probably just an infected lymph node. My whole body hurts, I sort of feel like I have the flu.

I was using a hot water bottle as my arm was hurting from when I had broken it a couple of months earlier and the bottom of the bottle split, and boiling water went all over my leg. Put it this way, I haven't worn a skirt since then and I won't be for a while, it's pretty nasty:(

Wow, that sucks! A similar thing happened to me when I was a kid. My mom was making jello with my sister and I in the days before instant jello and my sis spilled the glass holding the boiling water and it went across the table and onto my leg. The marks are barely noticable now.

When I was a toddler I knocked over a pot of boiling water on my arm and it burnt the flesh off of it. Yay.

I guess it affected my subconscious too because I can't take very hot showers.

Another mysterious ailment has afflicted the left half of my face, specifically my left ear. I went to the mall on Saturday to take my stepson to the play area and do some shopping and it was very loud. When I left the mall, though, I noticed that my ear feels plugged. Like I've been on an airplane or something and it's been like that ever since. It's gotten very slightly worse each day though this morning it felt like it "popped" a little, but it didn't really help that much.

Anyone had anything like this?

Yeah yeah I will. I just thought someone might have some insight.

We've got two lawyers and like 10 people in graphic design/media on this board. And no doctors.

Oh well, I'm tired of being sick. :(

Yep, I had some hearing problems a few years. My left ear constantly felt like it was underwater. The sound was all muffled and I had loads of headaches.

Cutting it short - it turned out to be my upper wisdom teeth impacting on the lower ones causing nerve damage. So I had them whipped out.

I still get pain in the ear from flying, some of the nerve damage was permanent :(

That sucks, dude! I had my wisdom teeth out when I was like 23 so it wouldn't be that. I'm guessing an ear infection. And wouldn't you know it, it's actually started to get better today.

Couples of months ago i had pain in my liver, it was pretty bad so i try this granma recipe; liverstones flush. There is many variation to this flush , i just did the simple one, because i like simple things:D

First no eating at least one day before the flush, then the night i drank some olive oil with lemon. And then bed.

The next day, i sh... lots of little stones, and then i had no more pain.

So this mysterious ailment was my liver telling me, please clean this place a bit. Thoses little stones in the liver are a defense system of the body to keep together all the bad fat instead of letting them go in the system.

So the flush was just fast for a day and then drink Olive oil and lemon juice before bed?

Yeah, there are many variations for this gallbladder/liver flush, go check it out, but it is a way to do it. Une cup of each, but i remember putting less then a cup of olive oil because it was disguting, i did put more lemon juice too. I don't planned to do this again in a near futur although it was beneficial. I was not able to smell/see oil for a while after this.

Yeah, I bought some flax oil once because it was supposed to be good for my skin and hair but I did not take into consideration how gross drinking oil is. It really was much more foul than I could have predicted and that lonely bottle of flax oil sat in the back of my fridge for almost a year before I finally took pity on it and threw it out.

you shouldn't drink oil on its own. that's gross. i take flax oil in a shot with OJ and chase it with more juice.

hpdrifter
03-20-2009, 11:47 AM
Yeah, people said I should put it on my oatmeal too but that didn't seem to help that much, the oil taste just permeated everything. I haven't tried it again since but maybe I will.

i bought a bottle of expensive flax oil and threw it out because i read too many articles out there that it feeds cancer, especially prostate cancer. and i thin i read that it makes your hair fall out. i dunno, something made me throw out a barely used $20 bottle

You can use flax oil to fry hot wings too.
