When it's hard to care anymore about someone's major life choice

I am so tired of my coworker talking about her breast implants. It is all she ever talks about. Every conversation invariably ends up on her chest. Small pauses between subjects make her eyes light up because she can mention her bra, or how her breasts feel. Agghh, I'm sick of it!

She got breast implants because she had a high risk of getting breast cancer, so we all know it wasn't a purely vain choice, and we know how she was in a great deal of pain during the recovery, and it's polite to ask about how someone is doing after surgery, but she had her surgery a year ago and she's still not shutting up about them tits. She talks about lingerie and getting the sensation back in the skin, and how they look when she bends over and how they feel and on and on and on! I've learned quite a bit about fake boobs.

Maybe this is her coping mechanism, to turn it into a big fun joke and share it with the world. I mean, she's shown them to everyone already. She wanted to, explaining that since they aren't her REAL breasts, it doesn't even feel like her real body parts so she doesn't feel ashamed or modest about them. And at first it was just, we were all being supportive and interested in how she was doing and feeling about this big change that she underwent.

I feel like maybe I'm being insensitive by not caring anymore, but I don't care anymore! When she starts talking about them, I usually try to tune out and look away and give the hints. But sometimes I try to get really interested and ask a bunch of questions and be like "Oh, really? A shelf bra?" and etc. So I think I've given mixed signals which she interprets to mean that she can continue to share. I just wish someone would get an organ transplant or have a baby or something around here.

I've also noticed something kind of funny these days, and that is her reputation around here with the blue collar side of the male employees. She was always a flirt, but the last time I walked with her down the main hospital hallway, one maintenance man eyed her and said "There goes trouble!" I turned to her kind of like "Huh?" And she just rolled her eyes, laughed and shrugged. Then in the cafe the guy who toasts bagels was like "Hey you, you stayin' outta trouble?" Weird.

Right. She has fake things in there, and no natural breast tissue. This method is more invasive and painful than simply placing breast implants in with real tissue. It also involved them taking some tissue from her back so she had back wounds, too.

I dislike her for lots of reasons. For one thing, she refused to eat my birthday cupcakes...when I know she loves junk food. She chose to eat an omelette and a piece of pumpkin pie (from the cafeteria, of all places!) instead. Bitch.

But if she had had cancer I might be more sympathetic.

regular squats, plie squats, lunges, combo lunge squats, high knee raises, warrior poses.

the plie squats are making all the difference I think. my legs are naturally muscular though, so I try not to do that stuff too much or I feel too beefy. I have a virtual personal trainer on my wii who keeps trying to get me to do more leg work than I need because my thigh measurement went up. she thinks it's fat, but it's just more muscles. I usually just switch it to core and upper body stuff. I am now able to do 5 girlie push ups! I started at 0. that crazy robot trainer still tries to sneak in leg work though.

That's a pretty big glitch in the game if it can't determine BMI over inches. Those exercises you mentioned, I don't know what some of those are. I guess you have to do a lot of those things, right?

and I don't know about doing a lot really...just properly and slowly so you can feel the muscles really working.

the game is a bit glitchy in that it doesn't allow me to tell it what my body composition is like. I think it just goes with the norm...most ladies want to firm up their legs and butts probably, so it just assumes I do too. and I did need a bit of toning, but a little goes a long way with me.

basically, I think of her as a magic witch that lives in my t.v.

Goodness she sounds annoying. I know how chicks with implants are too. They never shut up about them.

They don't do anything for me. It's like an admittance of their low self esteem. I do understand her case though.

I freakin love the wii fit. I actually get tired. I just got it so I'm barely starting to unlock everything but the advanced step I found kinda fun :o and I can hula hoop like a muthuafucka.

but for the point of the thread: that is a bit obnoxious. If it's been a long time since it's happened, OLD NEWS. Ignoring her and dropping hints from here on out might help, even if you are actually interested from time to time. *shrug*
