Hopefully this brightens up a few dreary winter days. Yauch reveals a little bit more about #8...

Great find, yeah. You can't really take what they say all that seriously though, The Mix Up was supposedly going to be a post-punk album.

Cheers, McDuff.

I can't wait to get first glance at the Album Cover Art.

I also like the concept of a bunch of short songs that run into each other.

NOT TALKING ABOUT STYLES BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE HERE HAVE POOR CRITICAL AND OBSERVATIONAL FACULTIES but Donuts and Since I left You were two great albums that smashed many songs of varying lengths together quite nicely.

Sounds like a whole album of bouillabaisse...could be delicious!

i sure hope it isnt like donuts. there's some good stuff on there, but more forgettable stuff than anything (in my opinion). i prefer more fleshed out songs. that just sounded like samplers.

thanks mcduff. small songs flowing together. a title with someone's name containing an apostrophe. I'm digging it!

Since I Left You was good, though.

It's a shame you don't like Donuts. 1 because it rules, and 2 because the Beastie Boys have stated it will be identical to Donuts in every way:

"....using lots of obscure samples to rebuild 'Donuts' from scratch, son.

You think that's what Yauch was referring to? I thought he was just using some obscure expression when he said that. The thought did cross my mind though...

Wow, it's certainly food for thought.

Please McDuff, don't fall for it. He's rebuilding 'Panama'

Donuts is nice. But, in a cool science project kind of way. I can't remember a time where I was like... damn, I gotta throw on some Donuts. I liked Dilla's production work, I just liked it when he had a crazy MC on top of it (Ghostface, DOOM).

Anyways, I respect Donuts as a record... It just doesn't get any quality time with me.

I came across this

Please tell me they are mis-informed (12/29/09?) , and if this site has already made the rounds on the boards i'm sorry, I've been away for awhile

I highly doubt they would release the album anytime other than the early summer. They always release their stuff around June or July. And why would they release an album right after the holiday season? that would be stupid.

I totally agree, I was just putting the info out there. you're right almost all of the albums if not all have come out late spring early summer. I remember Hello Nasty came out on July 14th 1998, one day after my birthday. so where is this site gettin' their information from, huh?

I hope they build upon the Mix Up.. New samples would be great.. not recycling old ones.. although I am all for recycling just not in music tracks..
