it's true, the feeling of finding out you don't have to work is better than any christmas, birthday, gang bang or going down a massive steep hill on a bicycle(y)

i too have to agree with this.
i love when i get called in to go out in the field, but then the assignment gets cancelled last minute. we get to charge for 4 hours time, so i end up at the office by 8am and only have to put 4 more work hours in before going home and getting paid for a full day

Usually I like to make a useful industrial plastic. In order to do that you need to come up with a cheap material with very weird properties. Specifically, molecules of the material have to react with one another and end up joined, so that you can make huge long molecules (polymers) that are chains of the molecules you started out with (monomers). For example, ethylene, a common component of natural gas, reacts to form very long polyethylene molecules, the stuff out of which plastic bags and milk bottles are made.
Fun times for sure!!!

It DOES warrant a thread, doesn't it? A Facebook status or Twitter update surely would not have sufficed. You should probably get in touch with local media next time this happens and see who manages to break the news first. Have you contacted the mayor's office? Was there a parade? Your family and friends must be so proud of you. I haven't been able to stop talking about this all week. CONGRATULATIONS. NO SARCASM. SERIOUSLY.
