Up to about three I had dead straight, blonde hair that turned into curly bright orange hair. It's not as orange now 'cause Ive slowly been going grey for the past five years (still got bright orange pubes, tho') . I'm the only person in my extended family on both sides that has orange hair and both my kids have mousy brown hair with some strands of orange that you can see in the right light. I also got green eyes which, in combination with orange hair, is a complete genetic fluke, apparently.

Having orange hair wasn't as bad as having Scott as a surname. I've been bombarded with 'scott no friends' and 'beam me up, scotty' my whole life by people who think they're the only ones who've ever made that joke, ever.

i never thought redheads were anything odd till my ex girlfriend would always bring it up, i think because she was a strawberry blonde and was self conscious of being almost 'ginger'. in fact, i was in love with a redheaded girl back in grade school, she still is one of the most beautiful things i;ve ever laid eyes on, i still see her around sometimes
