Franz Ferdinand - Tonight

Not good.

Not god-awful, there are still parts that make you remember the best of Franz Ferdinand dance-able rock, but mostly it feels like they just nerfed their old sound.

It's kind of confusing, because you'll hear sort of weak synth drums and then goofy synth melody, but occasionally guitars and vocals collide and remind you what makes them good, then it degenerates back into the "80's copycat" fad that didn't suit them.

I'll have to listen to it more.

how much does it drive away from their last release? i really enjoyed that one....

I really liked the last one too. Like I said, at it's best - it reminds you of their first 2 efforts. At it's worst, it sounds like trend-chasing rubbish.
