I like the fact that whenever I think of things from the past, I always associate them with different eras. i.e. PB, or IC. each era makes me think of things that happened in my life at that time, and vice versa.

It's always nice to get some younger fans! How old are your parents? They might not have even been old enough to really enjoy LTI when it dropped. Hahaha.
But I'm glad we're entering another new exciting Beastie era!!!

I have a daughter bbbaby's age and she digs on the Beasties.
No doubt because her old man's influence tho. Our house is filled with all kinds of Beastie crap.
She's got a couple shirts and always gets thumbs up from her friends and teachers when she wears them to school. (I went to HS with one of her teachers). It always cracks me up when she tells me the conversations she gets into because of those shirts.

There are definitely some old farts on the board...me being one of them. I was 16 when I got into the Beasties in 1986. But I think it's awesome that the Beasties attract a wide audience.
And speaking of swing orchestra...I heard the new Beastie material is going to actually be a salsa/gospel combo. Woohoo!

Remember when 4 years seemed like a long ass time?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Yo, no need to get excited.
I was just agreeing with the Old Heads on the board that four years isn't a long lapse of time for us. Considering when we had to wait over 5 or 6 years to get a new LP.
It wasn't a slight towards you... just a "I remember when I was young" type of shit.

Am I the only one here that will forever think of "To The Five Boroughs" as "the new album?" That shit seemed to take forever especially since I really started listening to them after Hello Nasty came out.

Yes you are. In my world anyways. I remember wondering if their was going to be a follow up to Paul's Boutique....
But, they are still doing it...

I think the longest wait for me was in between IC and HN. This was before I got into following the online beastie stuff and just remember saying I hope they come out with one more album and one more tour.

Yep, same here...it seemed like forever. Got my news from reading tidbits of info from magazines, etc. And the old site:
http://web.archive.org/web/19970222153628/http://www.grandroyal.com/BeastieBoys/
I remember the underwater submarine stuff that mentioned Ghostface and Raekwon stopping by the studio or something like that (the dungeon?)
