I applied to work for the border patrol. I got my application. Most likely if I apply for something, I'll get it.

I'm pretty sure I'll be put in Laredo Tx first. Give it about 2 years and I can decide to pick where I want to live. Probably going to be San Diego.

It kinda sucks that I'll take a pay decrease to do this but fuck it. I'm pretty tired of my job. No benefits, raises, or chance for advancements. Also all of my training is going to waste. I'm tired of living here as well.

I'll be busy in Laredo. There's some action going on. I'll be occupied, alert and on my toes. The kind of shit I love.

Man, I'm fucking stoked for this. There's so many different positions for it. I could even fly in a chopper.

I'm going to have to sacrifice and give 100% dedication to this.

There's some vicious shit going down in Ciudad Juarez and Tijuana, or so the headlines seem to say. Cartels going after each other and the Mexican authorities. Am I right when I say you've done tours in Iraq as both a trooper and a contractor? I'm sure you'll get some excitement on the border. Good luck man, I wish I had it in me to do something like that. I LOVE San Diego...one of the only american locales I would consider relocating to if opportunity knocked...

Movie research:documentary and drama!

"Mojados"

"Crossing Arizona"

"The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada"

"The Border"

"Lonestar"

I was out of the military when I went overseas. Yeah, it's pretty deep in Mexico. Drug lords just walking into stores and shooting people up just to prove a point. Decapitated bodies appearing.

Thanks man. I'm going to do my absolute best for this.

A friend of mine's husband works for the border patrol in Texas.

She says he really enjoys it.

Wow, how does the wifey feel about this?

I also wish I had it in me to do a job like that. There isn't a whole lot exciting about my job. In some ways it is but its definitely a grind. 8-5, M-F every day pretty much non stop. If I ever call in sick or take a vacation day I feel like a little kid because I am almost never out and about during the day during the week. It feels weird and that's about the most exciting thing about it.

bump.

So yeah, I am not doing it. I really want to stick around here. We've had a great time discussing the border patrol job and she has a point. She's tired of worrying with every job I get and she's true.

Things aren't getting any better there, putting piano wire across the atv paths, the huge rock throwings at the agents, drug cartels hiring US citizens to work for the border patrol to do their harboring... On and on.

I love a challenge but it does get to you after a while. You start to get cranky when all you see is life's hardships everyday.

Really, I want to stick around here, change my job and work some day hours for once so I can live a normal 9-5 life and enjoy daylight. I'll probably apply for MTA police or something laid back like that. It's got some sweet benefits and retirement.

also I'm serious about the foley bis. I just need to have a main job for true bidsness. If I work till 5 pm or so then I have plenty o' time afterwards to make some noises.

Speaking of noises, there's an asshole cabby outside honking his horn for no reason and distracting me from having a peaceful convo on the innarwebs.

The jerkwad.

Is this enough to make you reconsider, Eric?

I'm learning Spanish regardless.
