So now Springs springin' a bit my mind turns to festivals. And in particular, my personal favourite Bestival. This year they got Kraftwerk, Massive Attack, Mgmt, Fleet Foxes, 2manydjs, Squarepusher, Soulwax, Klaxons, Bat for Lashes and a huge shit load more amazing bands and djs. And space theme fancy dress. I can dress like a twinkly star and play in the sunshine and see great music and all the usual festivally things.

Except i can't 'cause i'm too bloody skint this year:mad:.

Anyone else have Festival plans this year??

Oh and they haven't announced the Sunday headliner yet-if it's the Boys i'll get there even if it means hatching an evil plan. it is on the Isle of Mike after all.

Probably just Pukkelpop in Belgium as normal.

I avoid all UK festivals now. Depending when I am over in the US this year, I might make my way to one of them. But I hear they are very different than european festivals - but unsure in what way. And I haven't really looked up the difference either :-)

Wow, that was pretty vague.

Would love to go to a U.S festival-what buggers them up here is the weather. The first couple of years at Bestival were hot and sunny and then last year was a total washout,welly-deep mud and allthough it was still fab it just wasn't the same. Sods law-i'm not going this year so of course it'll be lush weather.

brits are indeed obsessed by weather the snaggletooth bastards(figured i'd get that in before someone else does)

Been to a festival once. Was fun, but I'll never do it again. Too many people there to sell drugs/shit in strangers' tents/stab people rather than watch the music.

It's like festivals are designed to make your music listening experience as unenjoyable as possible. It's the equivalent to listening to your stereo in your front room, while a bunch of drunken pillheads outside shout insults at you and throw bricks and shit at your windows.

Exactly the reason i go to Bestival. It has the loveliest atmosphere-never had any trouble there-in fact i don't think there's ever BEEN trouble there!
Not sure why but it's about the music and having fun and dressing up and maybe because you have to really want to be there to go as you have to go on the ferry to get there. I'm blabbing now-phew slow down!.

But whilst there are lots of people off it on whatever there's not that element of dodgy dealers everywhere. And it's not all hippy yogurt-weaving sitting in triangles type thing either. I think because it's quite a strange mix of music too-more for real music fans or full-on partiers!

I have no interest in Glastonbury or a lot of the others for the exact reasons you just described. Some days i just wish i was there.:)
