i am a total fan of the faces, for sure. i was amped when i heard rumours that they might reunite this summer, but those got shot down pretty quickly (although i think rod said he was all for it). JUST DO IT RON WOOD

i'd go see a faces reunion but it would suck. plus ronnie lane is dead and he's so rude.

I love going to see Ian Mclagan here in Austin on Thursdays at Lucky Lounge. Great stuff.

I always wanted to like the faces but I never really could.

I used to have a book that Lester Bangs cowrote about Rod Stewart. It was a paperback but one of those big ones with nice photos. I just looked it up and it's going for $50 used. I think I threw it away a few months ago. I held onto it all that time and then threw it out because I couldn't stand having so many music books around.

Anyhow there were some hilarious lines in there.

Small Faces had it all going on with Steve Mariott (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcKZoFRpZCI), Robert Plant was literally running errands for Steve in the day.....

Plant lifted "Whole Lotta Love" from Mariott's vocal stylings on "You Need Lovin' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkQpZpFLpv4)

Then came Humble Pie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxz_gNx1q8w&playnext_from=PL&feature=PlayList&p=563009B984DE566F&playnext=1&index=82)

Rod Stewart really peaked way back in the day, cat had the vocals down on Every picture tells a Story (http://www.imeem.com/elrays/music/inTpnTlv/rod-stewart-every-picture-tells-a-story/), what a great tune. It sounds fucking great on my Speakerlab speakers, the dial just creeping up, up, up, fucking way up

I guess we get what the market can bear, I think a lot of 50 year plus folks were never cool enough to go see these bands in there prime so now they will pay the big money to see them, plus luckily for this demographic, the acts have mellowed into mature balladeers with lots of s-l-o-w s-o-n-g-s in case anybody is up sort of late.

It explains this tour (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/musicnightlife/2008836147_zmus10dispatchjoel.html) with ticket prices topping out around $200.00 per seat. What a fucking crazy business, I think i might enjoy Elton John for a $25 seat, but Billy Joel? Billy Joel really disturbs me.

I always wanted to like the faces but I never really could.

same

rod stewart is good but he has nothing on steve marriott. and the jeff beck group also helps you to forget about the faces. (y)

yeah, i can understand how some people might be too girly and weak to handle faces. they are pretty intense.

you might accidentally have your mind blown.

the small faces had a much different vibe than the faces music.

I don't usually try to compare them even.

Speaking of being high,...here's one of my favorites by Faces.
Stewart looks completely high himself.
