That's how they do it in Louisiana. It's strange, they'll say a coke and get a Dr. Pepper and it's actually what they wanted.

Eric is right, pop has no business here.

We call everything cola flavoured Coke here. Everything else is called Fizzy. Either it's full name of Fizzy-Drink, or just Fizzy. A can of Fizzy;
turning an adjective into a noun, it's nuts. Sometimes it can be a can of Drink, which is even dumber.

I only really drink water or juice. The juice of fruits, I mean.

well, considering the name of the product this thread is about is "Jones Soda", I think it's appropriate that she referred to as such.

also, I really don't understand why people think they way they say things is the only way to say things. don't understand it at all. clearly there are regional terms for things. it may be wacky, but it's not very wild and certainly not upsetting.

I usually just say "coke" if I want "coke", and so on. I do say "fountain drink" at places that have a bank of self-serve soda fountains. otherwise, I say "soda pop" because I like it better than the words individually.

Soda pop is okay, but you'd get looked at weird if you said it here.

What is wrong which just calling things by their actual name? Coke, please!

We call things by their names here. A coke is a coke. A pepsi is a pepsi. A fanta is a fanta, etc. Crazy, right? I know

A local skate shop used to sell jones soda so I used to by lots of root beer from there as its the only place I can get it. But now the shop has shut down.

I think Jones Soda is overpriced and not really that much better than other sodas. Their grape soda didn't strike me as particularly better than any other I've had.

But, I don't even drink soda anymore. So what do I know?

I work across the street from the Jones Soda headquarters. They have free Jones Soda every Friday from 3-5 which is awesome. My favorite is the berry lemonade.

And I love root beer.

you just want everyone to be exactly alike don't you! DON'T YOU!? WELL IT WON'T WORK!

SODA SODA SODA SODA SODA

perhaps that was a little excessive. I grew up saying "pop". I think you talk about pop more when you're a kid though. with all the pizza parties and whatnot. it's like, "who's bringing the pop?", "we need enough pop for 14 people", "what's your favorite kind of pop?"

I don't ingest high fructose corn syrup anymore, so I can only drink diet soda pop (which I've hated my whole life) or mexican coke. it's for the best really, but it sucks to have to think about it all the time when I go out for a meal...there are a lot of "ah, nuts" moments when I have to miss out on a nice bubbly fountain coke. I'm drinking diet dr. pepper this morning. it's not too bad. but it's no coke. :(

also they come in lower quantity than the bigger brands. Jones soda use to be good until Coca-Cola came up with Vanilla Coke, thats when I decided to not buy jones soda no more and stick with the stronger good stuff. Vanilla Coke (y)

+plus you get more quantity with Vcoke.

It's kind of like how people call any mp3 player an iPod. Truth is, Dr Pepper is always the right answer. Even if it has HFCS, unlike Jones.

Mexican coca-cola is is made with real cane sugar, not high-fructose corn syrup that the US stuff is.

mexican coke?

Helvete

Well, it's not really 'Mexican' Coke, it's just non-US/Canada coke. All European coke is real sugar also.
