What's the big deal? Why would I want to drink something that tastes like mouthwash?

Its one of those drinks you get when you're 16 cus its all pretty new when you start drinking and you're just out there to find your drink.

I mean, all larger tastes the same to me and I can't really drink much of it but I can most stouts and malt whiskys. But I used to drink larger all the time cus I hadn't really ventured into many spirits cus I hadn't gone past the cheap stuff and it was just to get loaded. Now when you taste some nice whisky you realise how bad Jack Daniels, Bells and the rest of that crap is.

Its for kids.

The spirit drink that I swear by is ouzo, a greek liquor. I have bottles of them at my house. A couple shots, and instant buzz. I rarely drink them, though. Once in a blue moon, if I have friends over, a round of shots it is! (y)

My mate brought back a bottle of absinthe from holiday once. You're suppose to add a few drops of it to some water and add some sugar to balance out the taste of the wormwood.

Instead of all that poncing about, me and two mates decided to drink two neat shots of the stuff.

I remember going out, getting in a cab, going to a club, meeting up with some of the second years, one of them telling me they fancied me and then nothing (4 hour blank) until the following morning when I woke up in my bed next to her.

She has amazing la la's (or so I'm told)

Ouzo is a beastly drink. I have tried it once at the source of all things Greek. Climbed up a hill in Athens to get to a bar and the first thing I did was have a glass. The drink reminded me of licorice (which I'm not a fan of) and it gave me a wicked headache for an hour. I've had Everclear straight and it didn't hold a candle to the Ouzo I had.

Next time I'm in Europe I'll have to try absinthe for real.

Me and my people always drink neat shots of it. My record is 7 shots in one night. The night also included normal alcoholic drinks. I ended up in a 3some. Good times.

had my first taste of the green goblin last night at my girlfriends house. her father had some, he gets it shipped over here from europe. i was asking him how much he pays for it, he said depending on the euro its anywhere near 115-150 american dollars.

it wasn't to bad as a straight shot. had a bit of a liquorish taste. definate instant mini buzz. it didnt even burn in my throat, just a legit one or two minute burn right at the base of my ribcage as it had settled in my stomach.

my brother is in europe right now playing footy, i told him to bring some back with him at the end of may when his season is over.

my question is, is this legal? if he brings some bottles on a plane would they confiscate them? would he have to put it in other bottles?

he won't be able to check it or take it through customs.

He'll only be able to buy it duty free at the airport so you have to hope they have it at the airport, I wouldn't get your hopes up or recommend smuggling.

dunno, when I wanted to bring some single malts over from the UK to America I learnt I couldn't unless its from the duty free.

I was surprised about check-in bit but I think it goes over the amount of liquids in one container rules. But yeah, terrorism and stuff - it might of changed again though, they often do.

edit: just had a quick search and it might depend on airline. I used Virgin Atlantic and American Airways but apparently some do allow alcohol checked in but you have to declare it. If its illegal in your country though and you don't declare then its a big risk.

Its impossible to keep up with trans-atlantic laws.
