There is plenty of bitching about it, just maybe not on these kind of forums or over in europe (cus he is still kinda liked there).

But like you say, its his first one so most reasonable people are giving him another chance. But yeah, search Digg, Blogs and other angry sites you'll find loads about it. It was mentioned on left-wing main stream news here in the UK even, although they obviously ain't gonna run with it.

he actually immediately called up the director (or some other bigwig) of the special olympics to apologize before the show even aired, and the guy was happy to accept it. apparently some competitors are going to give obama bowling lessons. or maybe that was just a joke
