In less than 12 hours, some people are going to turn up at my flat, pack up almost all of my stuff, and stick it on a boat to China.

I feel kind of like I might throw up. But also quite excited. And completely freaked out.

I'm guessing it's not coming on a container ship then, mate.

Yeah, I realised the stupidity of my statement after I posted, I hoped no1 else would. Hopefully no-one else will (lb)

This might be a dumb question, but are you moving to China?

They are moving to China!

When do you actually leave? And how to do you live without your stuff in the meantime?

It's so exciting. I can't imagine what it would feel like. What a great experience!

This might be an even dumber question, but can you still post on the BBMB in China? I know they have censored version of the internet and a sort of in-difference to American hip-hop.

I'm hoping you'll still be here is what I'm saying.

Hmmm. Didn't a street vendor get busted for putting cardboard in dumplings there?

I hear that Damon Albarn is quite enamoured with the country.

...and moving with a little one none the less! How's that going? Hang in there and happy trails to your new home. Bring a fork.

did you have to get rid of a bunch of stuff that isn't allowed in China?

I had some clients that moved to dubai and had us hide/frame a painting of a nude woman. because images like that are forbidden there, we hid it underneath another "benign" print of a landscape, so that they could still have it with them and in their home without it being confiscated.

one time i went to this club on the bund and the DJ, who was asian, was playing project pat, rick ross etc
it was awesome
we were drinking chivas regal and sweetened green tea
i've tried to replicate the drink here but it doesn't work for whatever reason

I was thinking about the BBMB in china to.

With the tibet stuff etc, I would think this site would be banned :-( Hopefully ms.peachy will befriend a hacker who can keep her online.

Well, mr.p is there now and has been since Feb. He is coming back somewhere around the 18th of April, and then we all go out at the end of the month. So, in short, pretty much a month from today.

In the meantime we will be OK for stuff as our flat was rented 'furnished', so the only things we are shipping are things that actually belong to us, and then all the basic things we need to live like furniture and dishes and such will still be here.

It's so exciting. I can't imagine what it would feel like. What a great experience!

Well, let's hope so. Mostly it feels like this  Sometimes a bit like this , but then also a bit of this :(

I think, once you get over the initial shock, you'll love it. I went out to work on HK on my own, and the first month or so was horrendous but I soon got into a routine and it was cool. It's a great opportunity and I wish you all loads of luck.

Yes, best of luck with everything!

In preparation for your move, you may want to check out a couple of great films, namely this (http://www.citylitnyc.com/?p=32) one and this (http://www.mongolmovie.com/) one, to help alleviate culture shock. Unless you've already seen them. Then you're safe.

Y'all know you're still stuck with me for at least another month, right? It's just the stuff that left today; I'm in London until the end of April.

Maybe longer, if The Great Firewall of China doesn't block this site, but it's highly possible it does; we will just have to wait and see.
