View Full Version : I'm so unsociable
I have a wedding reception to go to this afternoon which I forgot about until yesterday and I don't want to go. Its not a close a friend or anything, more a friend of a friend and he is cool but I haven't got him a present, I don't have any smart clothes (I normally hire a suit for things like this).
I obviously don't have a date and can't get one on short notice. I always feel like a tag along at these sort of events.
No-one will be pissed at me for not turning up. Its just, I dunno - I'm just an unsociable arsehole...
The receptions is a sharing-taxi distance away to. Not a walk where I can disappear if its all a bit uncomfortable for me. It might even be a sit down meal which'll be even worse, I can't even mingle near the buffet.
me too, but not through my own choice (n)

You two should go together (imagines low-fi version of Wedding Crashers) (y)
So I'm considered 'lo-fi'?
Where's my pills?

Lo-fi is cool.
I'll stick with 'brooding' (y)
I think I'm gonna turn up late. That way, I won't be drinking and taking drugs for 12 straight hours - it will be full of junkies there (inc class A).
Yeah, so I sound like a pussy but I don't care.

um, from the way you describe your relation to the guy and not knowing anyone and no one can go on short notice...
I wouldn't go either!
I never thought of myself as unsociable though.
I went, I took drugs with me, drank lots of ale and whisky - its 2am, just got back and glad I went.
Been a long night, the groom and bride are some of the coolest people I know and they have the coolest friends to. Everyone is in a band, 50% of people are veggie & vegan, they all smoke pot - proper chilled out. Glad I went.

usually I just dance for hours and hours to avoid proper socializing at weddings.
the last wedding I went to was awesome because I could take the bus to it, and two of my bestest friends were there. also, I was very popular because I got the bride and groom together in the first place and therefore had something to say to strangers who tried to make small talk.
