it's wrong of me to smoke weed, even if one of my best friends really doesn't like me doing it.? it's not like i talk to her about me doing it all tha time, and i'm not different around her or anything. but she doesn't like it.

I was an uptight straight-edge in high school. My best friend started smoking weed and it pissed me off, which in turn pissed her off and our friendship completely fell apart as a result. In retrospect, I was totally in the wrong and am sort of embarrassed by the fact that I once behaved that way.
Do what you want, just do it within reason and be responsible. If your friends don't accept you, that's their problem, not yours.

this is the same thing i told my little cousin:
im not gonna be a hypocrite, but i wish you wouldn't smoke yet. studies show that brains are not all fully developed until your early 20's. i know you're not gonna wait till your 20th birthday to smoke weed, but if you are gonna do it, do it sparingly. you don't want to be fucking with your most valuable asset - your brain. (at this point, i make an example of my exbf who started smoking at 13. he's a dumbass.) smoking weed doesn't make you cooler than anyone else. much like drinking, it's something you gotta learn to be responsible about. and NEVER smoke or drink or do anything because someone else is pushing you to. THAT'S the stupidest thing you could do.
if your friend doesn't like that you smoke, that's ok. it makes sense, she's worried for you. she doesn't want you to be a lazy pothead. no one does. it is especially annoying to be the sober one when your friend is blazed out of her skull. don't hang out with her when you smoke. maybe don't talk about it with her. if she thinks you act like a retard when you're high, maybe there's something you need to consider about how you're acting.

^ This is also good advice. Everything in moderation. Don't turn into a burnout Phish lover. No one loves burnout Phish lovers besides other burnout Phish lovers.
A little weed from time to time won't hurt you though. Just be careful.
No one loves burnout Phish lovers besides other burnout Phish lovers.

yeah i smoke with one of my other best friends. and that's it. she's one of my only close friends who really likes to smoke. and we don't talk about it unless someone brings it up you know? and jenna, tha one who doesn't like it is mad cause she knows i've gotten in trouble from it with my mom and she seriously gave me tha longest lecture about it, like my mom would. i just don't really think it's her business of what i do. i like to smoke on occasion, and i don't think there's anything wrong with it. and yeah, i read about that whole brain still developing at my age in high times, so i'm gonna be smart about it.

Don't let it get to the point that you can't do things you used to do without being high, or to the point that you're doing things you wouldn't do when you're sober BECAUSE you're high. That's when you know you're in trouble.
Your friend might chill out. Don't worry about it.

you should really talk this over with your parents or a school counselor than asking us, imo.
yes, talk to your parents about smoking weed

well talk to a counselor.
I just feel bad for them. They are there to help students or any kid in general but they hardly get anyone come by to talk about their situation for guidance unless its those kids who pretended they got some problems just to be I guess interesting to students around... like this kid at one of the highschools I went said he had dyslexia, wanted to wear sun glasses at school so he came with this excuse to say his eyes are sensitive to light, I think he turned gay as well (possibly pretending to be gay) annnnd well coming with other bs. Well my point is just talk to a counselor.
Also.... smoking in general isnt good at your age. I dont give damn if you smoke crack or what (actually dont ever smoke crack) its just not a good substance to have as a habit.

Don't you have parents you can talk about this stuff with?
I know I know, this is the 21st century Parent Over Shoulder shit and what not, but coming to an internet board for advice on drugs and sex will not give you sincerity. Yes parents can be idiots in those departments of advice, but letting them know you are curious/exposed to such stuff can help you and them connect. They are not as ignorant as you think and you're not as naive as they would wish.

C'mon.
Not everyone has parents they can talk to about sex and drugs and such.
I think more people than not would talk to their peers about such issues than would go to a parent.
The fact that the majority of people here are slightly older and wiser than BBB and have experience, and for the most part are anonymous make it a great place for her to bounce shit off of that she can't bounce off her parents or people that she knows IRL.
Most people in BF have done similar.

all I have to say is, don't try to live your whole life right now.
I was straight edge in high school and didn't have many friends. a lot of the popular people I envied ended up pregnant. or they got married young and seem really unhappy (according to their myspace blogs). or they still party with all the same people and still live in the same lame town and work at the fucking hardware store or some shit.
I also have a friend from college who is literally a genius who smoked weed and got wasted all the time when he was a teenager and he turned out fine. mostly fine. he's kind of a weirdo.

don't try to live your whole life right now.
This is good advice. Really good actually.
Only problem is that you'll never be able to fully understand just how good advice it is until you're older and have fucked up in life somewhat because you were trying to grow up too fast.
