Everyone drank out of a glass as opposed to a bottle. Everything out of a glass. Beer. Wine. Water. Soda, even. EVERYTHING. EVERYONE. Even the French. (heyooooo!)

Is there something I'm missing here? Is it barbaric to swill from a bottle? Is it a health issue?

I'm drinking beer from a frosty mug and it's quite an experience. I don't think I'll use a bottle if I have a choice from now on. Disregard the fact that it allows for bigger sips... that's just a coincidence.

there's probably something you're missing, like the millions of people who drink out of a bottle everyday.

Yeah, we do (often in the UK to) erm - can only really be a health issue really. I generally refuse to drink out of cans unless I medically need a pint. In transport rats and all sorts of parasites can run and poop across them so its healthier from a clean glass.

I see plenty of people drinking from cans or bottles. Of course those cans and bottles tend to contain things like Tennants and White Lightning, so maybe there's your answer.

I'll always pour a can or bottle into a glass to drink it. Unless I am out somewhere and buy a can from a store or something, I don't carry my own glass supply with me.

I would totally rather drink beer from a bottle-but it's gotta be a small bottle or the beer's too warm by the time it's half- full . Oh yes, i said half-full:)
