That lately, I have seen on telly that a lot of americans are using the word 'bum'.
Example - Seth Rogen says it in Pineapple Express.
Is this a new thing? Why all a sudden are Americans using the word bum?
Is this really happening or am I tripping balls?

this is pretty old? I mean they sometimes come up with in old shows. But Ass is more proficient, I think.

That's the way the American vernacular has always been. We latch on to a word or phrase and work it to death. Soon the novelty will wear off and you won't hear it over here anymore.
