ya know what im saying.

I would much rather be out drinking some beerce chasing some girls than writing a paper on if the United States can learn anything from the Danish welfare system.

I know its only a couple more days of busting ass before summer (atleast until the second session of summer classes starts) but it doesnt make tonight any better.

Good luck, man. I just came out of that situation, and I'm probably going back into it next year with post-grad shit and shit.

just finished two massive dongers. one was due monday that went over well. the other i just finished at 3 am stateside. which is due tomorrow (well today i suppose). i had been working almost nonstop from the time i get up in the morning until the time i go to bed, barring eating, for the past 6 days. i really need to stop procrastinating. but i dont do anything unless i feel the pressure of it needing to be done. im glad its over but it sure as hell sucked balls, i will have to give time management a try.

although i still have to make a power point presentation before 6 pm the 22nd which i have all day to make. but then again i havent made a power point presentation in at least 5 years.

but i cant imagine its going to be that hard, right.

after that and i am home free for a bit. this weekend its finally supposed to get into the 70s here. that + beers + nothing on my mind = (y)

I made a powerpoint presentation once and why powerpoint always makes crap presentations. It was well received.

Its the only way to study really. Get to a point where its impossible to catch up but you have enough common sense in you that it needs to be done so you do it. I've always said I'll stop procrastinating but when video games, porn, sunshine, girls, beer and other things exist - how the hell aren't you supposed to procrastinate?

Grats on getting it done - you won't be worse on the course. There is always one other who gets about 4 extensions.

The people who do piss me off are those that have the course work handed in 2 weeks after the question is given and then brag how they finished early.

I once wrote a 6 page paper about the rise of West Coast hip-hop and how it has affected the music world in general. My English professor gave me an A and wrote a note on my paper to see her after class. She thought that I didn't write it so I spent 10 minutes talking about the East Coast scene. She told me to have a good summer.

Also, fuck Powerpoint.

the master of procrastination is back. and you all know what they say about procrastination!!!

this time is a ridiculous situation i have gotten myself into, which i am not helping by posting on this board. but i just need to work on shit like that. do some work. stop, break, surf the web, then get back to work.

alllllright. so i have a 23-25 page paper due for this 590 class and this is not going to be pretty.

2 pages done so far. its due by 9:30 pm on monday, its currently 7:30 pm on sunday.

the research is done, although i havent read through all of it, which will undoubtedly eat up some time.

i have no idea why i put myself in these pressure situations. but i always seem to suck the days dick nice and good, so heres to hoping its going down like that again!

I think every paper I was due on the monday I didn't get into until the weekend before - unless we had to hand in incremental rough drafts, research, bibliographies, intros, outlines, etc.

research papers get boring after about 3 pages, no matter how solid the writer

some bullshit in global mass communications.

my topic, a case study on the role of civic journalism in the breaking of the 70 year reign of PRI ruling party in mexico as opposed to the lack of civic journalism in venezuela and the breaking of their 40 year oligarchic control by socialist hugo chavez.

its gonna be a load of shit let me tell you.

is supposed to be all professional like. i need an abstract, intro, theory/lit review, method, findings, conclusion.

so in reality its almost like several smaller papers in one larger paper, but still this stuff is wack.

i actually kinda lucked out. we were supposed to have our last class/test/just drop off your paper at a bar and drink some. but he ended up coming down with a cold and said you can just email it to him or drop it off in his real drop box at school. i chose the later, because i knew he wasnt going to be there and it gave me an extra hour or so to work on it.

but it was single handedly the most taxing gruesome academic task i have yet had to accomplish in my life. i feel asleep for half an hour since 9 yesterday morn. this is the least amount of sleep i think i have ever gotten in my life in a 39 hour span.

i am thoroughly ready to enjoy the next five weeks of christmas vacations.

Alright a project cost estimate due on Wednesday at 5:30pm, have secured a day off work tomorrow, back to work Tuesday. Sort of started, done the part worth 20%, just working out the nuts and bolts of a cost estimate for this conference deal. Been told it's not a theory exercise, but like a practical, useful estimate. Should mean the only real bastard is in the details......

well, this is my first contribution to this thread in a proper last minute fashion. It's 8.29pm, my dissertation has to be in tomorrow by 3.30pm.

just hit 7k words, probly going to need about 1500 more. should be done with time for a few hours sleep if i keep on track. it's slow progress though cause those 1500 include conclusion, bibliography, references, appendices etc. maybe 2000 actually.

its all good though cause tomorrow it's party time.

Ack! I have my first draft of my second dissertation proposal due by 3pm today. I should have submitted it last Friday but it wasn't quite there yet. I've managed to ignore it since then, and oddly it still reads like shit.

Sometimes I wish I'd stuck with getting a masters degree. Every time someone graduates, its like seeing one of those billboards that says "If you live here, you'd be home by now." If I'd gone the masters route, I'd be done by now. Fudge.

Shit, doctor milleson is one of my bigger problems.

I'm going through divorce and trying to decide whether to keep my married name or revert back to my maiden name. I haven't published anything more than abstracts yet, so I still have a bit freedom with it. I figure I should suck it up and keep my married name, just to make life easier on the kids.

I personally don't give a shit, I only worry about it with respect to dating. Will a guy be freaked out by me keeping my married name?

I fully intend on returning to higher education at some point. I didn't realise whilst I was at university how much I actually enjoy constructing a piece of writing about something I am interested in. I wasted those years of education doing everything at the last minute and doing... OK. I'm going to save up and go back to do another degree and get some more letters after my name.

i agree a bit. you wouldnt know it by my posting style on here but im a pretty good writer and can put together a paper quite well. however i am a born procrastonator. seems like i need the pressure to force me to do it. but there is no doubt many of these papers would turn out better had i started them earlier and went through a throurough revision process. but whatevers, still pull A's bro!!!

i'd love to go back for some sort of graduate study, but i don't know that i could force myself to specialize any more than i am now. if i could find a program that allowed for a somewhat general study with research opportunities that i could latch onto directed by some professor, then maybe i would go for it.

the big key now though is can i do it without having to work a regular job and still pay the bills?

Kid Presentable

I have to do a reflective journal, which is only four entries at 500 words a pop. I have about a week's worth of putting it off until I start doing it the day before it's due.

It's shit because you only have to reference in the first hundred or so words and then come up with opinions and apply it to your life.

Total Quality Management.

Applied to my life.

I don't have an opinion. Give me the degree and be out, bitch.
