i was thinking about that one but for some reason i thought that one was kind of a "mainstream" good simpsons episode. maybe it's just that i like it so much i assume the rest of the world likes it too only i underestimate their dumbness

It is really a bit mainstream I spose, but the phone bit and the "Freedom! Horrible, Horrible Freedom!" elevate it.

Bart gets famous, Homer Loves Flanders (great T2 references) on and on and on. My favourite of the latter episodes is probably A Milhouse Divided.

I don't know the name of it but it's the one where Patty and Selma take Lisa and Bart to Duff Gardens and Bart dares Lisa to drink the water and she does and hallucinates. "Can't talk, coming down." And Homer has this 12 foot sub sandwich that he won't stop eating and Marge keeps trying to throw it away and he hides it in their bed and behind the heater and keeps eating it even though it makes him sick.
