I am thinking about getting it since I have discovered that another of my favorite shows has been bought by Sky and won't be on terrestrial anymore. Is it worth paying the extra money for the HD package, even if I just get the basic set of channels?

had sky for years , sky+ is awesome but i cant be meffed getting HD, its another tenner a month extra and you gotta fork out for a box. CBA. I dont really think most of the progs i watch are gonna be that much better in HD.
My mate has just started wearing glasses and he was overjoyed telling the optician that he was thinking about getting HD a few months back but now he isnt gonna bother:D

I have sky hd-full package. It is pretty awesome in terms of picture quality, Lost and 24 look great!
I guess you would notice the difference the bigger the TV you have, I have a full hd 52" set...if you are watching on a 32" hd set or below i would think the difference in picture quality would be minimal.
I have a 1080p for my PS3 which is 22" and I can tell the difference with that.

Dont get me wrong, there will be a difference, but the benefit is less...regular tv (std def) looks crap the larger the screen size due to its low resolution. My tv upscales std def pictures so they are certainly watchable...but a long way from sky hd and blu ray!

hmm. I have a 28'' HD TV. That's interesting... My brother in law recommended the HD pack but he has a 36'' set...... I'm going to stand in currys and see if I can see the difference.

Lost in HD...one of the best looking on tv, oh and the BBC natural history programmes!
Enjoy!

Thanks. They suckered me into getting a movie channel as well though I can cancel it after 30 days. But think I'll keep it and cancel the lovefilm subscription instead which is very sensible.
:finds a way of justifying any expenditure:
