Ya know, where you pay a dollar per ticket and if your number is drawn, you win a bunch of meat.
Do these happen where you live?
This question is only posed to those of you who do not reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. I already know how you fuckers roll.

Not the ones I've been to. I can't speak for the whole of the meat raffle world though.
This thread made me gag a little.
Sounds like the worst prize ever - a selection of dead animal parts for the winner!

yeah! they used to happen every sunday when i was a kid at the pub my grandparents used to frequent. i haven't seen one since though. but then again i don't really frequent proper old man types of pubs so much nowadays..
ahh the unabashed joy of hauling a whole chicken/leg of lamb/bunch of pork chops/beef joint home!

my church / school growing up had a bazaar at the end of every year, I remember one year my mom came home with this huge basket of tubed meats and goldie...the gold fish I won. The meat lasted longer than the fish.

They are a great place to pickup on chicks. What girl wouldn't want to go home with you with a plastic bag full of T-Bone won for $2 and knowing you had change in your pocket for a 6 pack of Schlitz on the way home?

the closest thing i have seen to this is the "free ham for a month" contest they always had at the football games.
but if i could pay a buck at a chance to win a boat load of meat, i'd be all for it!
Meat? We do them for cakes down here.

sorta off topic but...
my aunt and uncle visited us once and they own a ranch that produces red angus cattle.
anyways, they always bring along some cuts of Alberta beef with them and we cooked up a roast and were all "Mmmmm gee gosh golly this sure tastes good"
and my aunts reply was "yeah, this used to be one of our prime stud bulls but he tried jumping the barb wire fence a couple weeks ago and ripped one of his balls clean off so we butchered him"

during holidays at the trap and skeet club I used to work at, they'd have turkey and pork chop shoots where you shoot at a paper target with a shotgun and if you get the most buckshot into it, you win your holiday meats.
so yeah, Ohio has meat shoots as well as raffles.
NY, not too sure. Maybe upstate or Long Island does.
