i woke up with sun on me thinking about being on a ferry to nantucket. i want to be back there right now. if i could do anything i wanted, id move there in a second. the people can be bleh, yes, but the island is beautiful enough to make me forget about that. 21 beaches on one island, fresh air and seafood all the time.. all this in driving distance of nyc, besides the ferry

I totally have my 'happy place' for those 'find a happy place' moments. It's the lake I grew up waterskiing on near my mom's house. It's thee perfect temp in the summer and has no public access so it's super clean. Memories of being there are sooooo warm and fuzzy and sunny and awesome. I make a point to get in that water at least once a year. sigh.... :)

I have 4 places, all of which give me different escapes and feelings and take me back to special times at various points in my life:

#1 - NYC
#2 - Palm Desert Area
#3 - Shasta
#4 - Rome, Italy

jennygirl - your response was definitely how i try to live - by hitting up my spot or spot(s) atleast once a year to ground me -or save me- depending on what is going on in life.

Will post a better photo when the sunset is nice and pink and the battery isn't dying on me.

Comiskey Park, because it means baseball, summertime, family, friends, beer, delicious fatty treats, and great fun.

Salzburg, Austria because it's breathtakingly beautiful.

My apartment, particularly when special peoples are here to keep me company. :o

Apart from up snowy mountains with wood strapped to my feet, this bed I'm in right now is pretty sweet. Oh, it's not mine though.

I'm not really that travelled so mine is actually Belgium.

After a festival we stopped off at this forest in the middle of no where and it was great. People are friendly (read drunk) and the air just seemed so clean. But I can't remember where it was apart from 'Belgium'.

But on two fucking days I go to the USA for a month - yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-haw!

So I may update this list after then

I want to go back to Brugges (http://personales.ya.com/msopena/blog/imgs/brugge.jpg) and especially Versailles (http://www.wayfaring.info/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/palace-of-versailles-4.jpg). I wish I could live on the grounds.

I do enjoy being in my bedroom though. It's pretty comfy.

My bed.

Lately I've been so worn out I just can't wait for weekends to roll around so I can sleep in and not have to be anywhere and maybe wake up beside someone who'll scratch my back a little or play with my hair.

Beds and Belgium seem to be the resounding theme here.

Concise, spot on and unabashedly honest... as only PJ can be. (y)

I'd like to add that my other favorite place to be in all the world is my boyfriend's arms. Wherever they may be... and if it's in bed... all the better!

I don't know why, but waking up in some seedy hotel room in a strange town, makes me feel very comfortable... Waking up, knowing I need to get my ass out before checkout. Is just a very good feeling.

I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm out of town, or what, I just like it.

My bed.

Second that.

Sometimes when I arrive home and just SEE my bed I smile...
