Anybody know what the hell "achnicolus" means? Mike D uses the word in Some Dumb Cop Gave Me Two Tickets Already (which is a song on the Shadrach single).
He also used it in a 1995 interview when asked about slang. MTV used to have a show called "Superrock" and the Beastie's hosted one of the episodes. The interview was on a boat was in Amsterdam! That pretty much lead to a classic Beastie interview.
Anyway, Jackie Farry asked them what slang terms they dropped from their vocabulary and Mike D says something like "achniculus didn't really gain the popluarity I hoped it woud. I just dropped the whole thing"
I don't know, maybe its just some crazy shit Mike made up but Company Flow uses it in a rhyme too "best to get ak-a-nickulous" in the song "Population Control". I don't even know how to spell the word. Beastie Mania spells it "achnicolus" in the Some Dumb Cop lyrics but in the interview Mike says it like "akniculous". I always wondered about that.
By the way, MCA's answer was: "In Holland they still say 'defueden-fueden', which . . . is not at all the style in New York nowadays".
Adrock answer was: "Heh?" and Jackie says "what slang terms have you dropped from your vocabulary?" and he says "that was my answer, "heh".
Funny shit. I guess you probably have to watch it.
