"I'm not going to lie, I'm frightened". Haha.
Man, it was a solid performance. The drummer singing to start it off is awesome.
I'm pretty sure that after Crack the Skye came out, they've now become my favorite band.
There's a YouTube link to it but I'm on my phone and don't feel like typing all that now.

yeah, great performance. i want that record just for the sleeve.
god, i love these guys. can't wait for them to hit AUS again.
I've heard of people talking about Mastodon forever but never listened to them for whatever reason.
Watched the link and then listened to them. Good shit. It nice to have some music that I can metal fist too that I haven't been listening to since the late 80s early 90s. Thanks

I just got Crack the Skye on iTunes 2 days ago and have been listening to it over and over.
I think Oblivion is my favorite. The chorus gets stuck in my head easily.
I've had Leviathan for a while but I haven't heard Blood Mountain, which I'll be picking up soon.
Leviathan is pretty heavy and they sing now instead of growl, a few growls here and there but more emphasis is on their singing now.

they seemed fairly bored

yeah, i mean i really dig mastodon, but that performance was like their manager secretly booked the letterman gig for publicity, and they weren't too happy about it.

I youtubed some of their concert videos and their performance seems to be done the same way.
They don't really move around much onstage.

maybe they are just concentrating really hard

their music is real technical with many breaks so yeah, I'd say they're concentrating pretty hard.

Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman was way better than this.

Blood Mountain > all
The other day I dropped a tin pan on the ground and it sounded like the opening to Crystal Skull.
