beef burger - lettuce, tomato, pickles, bacon, just a tad bit of ketchup, and mustard (could be yellow or dijon I don't really care). And dear christ, no mayo damn it. NONE. Gross.
turkey burger - blackened with guacamole on the top bun, lettuce, tomato, pickles. So delicious.

I adore home-made veggie burgers
I like the ones with lots of grains or seeds in them.
If im having a veggie burger than I like grated beet or carrot on top, lettuce, sprouts, tomatoe
for sauce on those I'm ok with just mustard. If the restaurant has a special sauce then lay it on me.
Bison Burgers
blue cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, ketchup, mustard.
Regular Burgers
bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoe, pickles, pickles, pickles, ketchup mustard.
I like my chicken burgers to be smothered in hot sauce.

After reading this thread this morning, I had to grab a burger for lunch. I usually don't find much on a TGI Fridays menu, but today, was a good day.
The Tripple Stack Burger
The Triple Stacked Burger, a juicy beef patty with a zesty red pepper pimento blend of sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, topped with ham, crispy bacon, pickles and more cheese, all stacked on a toasted bun and served with fresh home-style potato chips.
Seriously, a must have. At least once. I dodn't even wanna know how bad it was for me. I loved it though.

Count me in for the bleu cheese, bacon, barbecue sauce variation of burger. With fresh beef and toasted buns.
When I went to California last month I had my best purchased hamburger yet at Taylor's Automatic Refresher (http://www.taylorsautomaticrefresher.com/menu/TaylorsMenuSummer2009.pdf);
WESTERN BACON BLUE RING
A burger topped with an onion ring, crumbled blue cheese,
bacon, pickles, red onion & BBQ sauce on a toasted
egg bun.
I keep trying to replicate this at home.
this thread sounds like a heart disease special.
what about steroids or growth hormones?

that sounds like a heart disease special.
hey beef eaters, what about steroids or growth hormones?
These are seriously unhealthy burgers but Taylor's does use vegetarian fed (the irony) cattle with no added antibiotics or hormones from Niman Ranch (http://www.nimanranch.com/index.aspx).
Even still it's a gut bomb, but if your in San Francisco seek it out down at the Ferry Building (http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/) where I also purchased my best cup of coffee (http://www.bluebottlecoffee.net/)(outside the stuff I roast my own) and Chocolate Bar (http://www.scharffenberger.com/prodinfo.asp?number=3+OZ+TOME+ACU) ever so far. I hit the tri-fecta all in one building.
thanks but no thanks on the chocolate bar or diabetes, but i'll take the coffee to go.
seriously, frisco rules and when i finally get out there i'll check the ferry building for sure, it looks great, thanks man.

a fantastic burger i had one two weeks ago at Rohrbachs (http://www.rohrbachs.com/default.asp).
The Heart Stopper Burger 8.25
Our juicy ½ lb burger is cooked to your liking
then topped with bacon, fried egg, and
American cheese.
True story, my old boss had one and a week later had a heart attack. He survived that one. Ended up dieing of a heart attack. I can't say if he had a heart stopper close to the heart attack that ended up killing him though. RIP Norm.
I gotta tell ya, burgers topped with fried eggs are the best. It's like topping gold with silver. And then eating it.

Indeed! It's gotta be a perfect fried egg though. The yolk must be oozing greatness all over my burger.

refer to my big guts thread down there.
Yeah, I said refer. Gives ya the munchies to go crazy enough to buy some big fat burgers.
And create a forum for big guts.
i don[t even know what i just typed.
Not to divert attention from the topic, but has anyone tried that Arby's Roastburger bullshit yet? I think it tastes weird, not quite roast beef, but nowhere near a burger.
I'd take a real burger over that any day.

aaaaand we are part of nature my boy. we need to slaughter our food just the same.
slaughter houses, processing plants and factory farming have nothing to do with nature. and meat consumption is having a major (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7600005.stm) impact (http://newstandardnews.net/content/index.cfm/items/3956) on the environment by accelerating climate change.
regardless, go and enjoy your beef. i wasn't expecting people to get so defensive when the health risks were pointed out.

perhaps this makes me a boring eater
like, with pies, i don't like new experimental styles like butter chicken pie and whatnot
just basic steak and kidney or lamb and mint or something like that
preferrably at optimal pie temperature so i can eat it without fear of burning my mouth
