I'm just about to go pay my annual car tax at the post office and I just fucking know there's maybe going to be in the queue that might take 25 mins to get seen to:

1.Crying baby
2.People checking their phones every minute.
3.Some random woman with her daughter talking about absolute crap
4.Someone saying " They can't get the staff these days"
5.In general, people who I would only ever meet in a fucking post office queue

That sucks that you guys have to pay tax on your car annually. It was like that when I lived in NC. Cock suckers.

I do mine online. It's too painful to try the post office at lunchtime or weekends

Car tax difference Fern, is that we don't have as many tolls in the UK.

But driving is sooooooooooo cheap over here (USA) and I'm not surprised people aren't willing to drive less. I don't think I've seen anywhere that petrol is more than $2.49 a gallon!! But then if I drove as much in the UK as I have over here I'd of probably circled the UK twice by now.

and the reason I'm replying to this thread - you reminded me my car tax is due this month, lucky I parked it off the road before I left.

i don't pay any tolls at all, unless i'm visiting a big city. i think MOST American cities don't have tolls, just the larger ones.

yeah I know I can do it online but I like to get some fresh air every now and then.

Anyway, there was NO queue! I just walked straight up to the counter for the woman to tell me that my insurance proof was a photocopy and not the certificate one at that so was furious then phoned the insurance people and they said I should have a certificate but I tell them I have not so they will send one in the post to get to me by tomorrow then I will go back to the post office and hopefully join the big queue I was ready to endure today.

But....definitley will do it online next year

the trip included a haircut too and a visit to Farm Foods for bread and milk and Sainsburys for potatoes but the whole trip was glammed up by seeing Full Metal Jacket on DVD for £3:99

" You wan sucky fucky?" or "fucky sucky"...I'll remember when I watch it which way round the suck and fuck was

all the freaks got me off the ball last time i was in the post office. i ended up leaving with a roll (100) of stamps instead of a book (20)

and it sucks because i still have 80 stamps left, and they just bumped the price up 2 cents so i'm fucked now unless i go buy a host of 2 centers

If I was a lesser, meaner person, I would use the ole internet adage of 'PWNED'

Always buy the "Forever" stamps in the U.S. you pay the regular price, and they're good no matter what they hike the price to..

As for queues, It's only the LOUD cell phone people that piss me off, it's like they don't give a shit about anyone around them, and we all need to hear what they're talking about. The worst ones are the Walkie-Talkie phones, **BLIP** "Hey!!" **BLIP** "What are you doing" **BLIP** where you get to hear both sides of the conversation.. I always have the urge to just punch someone in the face for that kind of rudeness. But being a non rude, civilized adult, I just get pissed in my head, and go about my business. But F--- It makes me want to just bloody someone up!

Grocery, it's always the dumbass with like 50 items in the 10 items or less line, and they always look sheepish when the checkout person reminds them that it's an EXPRESS LANE, but you know they do that crap EVERY time because they know they can get away with it....
