I would black out...wake up in the same time I fell asleep in, feeling like days had passed but it was only the next second.

When I was 14 I had my first out of body experience, falling out of a cube in the sky and through the roof of my house. Into my sleeping self, I could see the TV on in the corner and everything. Then I had another out of body experience at 25, where I was in a deserted city at night, and I could levitate, flying from place to place, under my own command. It was my home city and I went wherever I wanted. When I wanted to end it, I told myself to wake up, and I did.

I was being chased by horse-sized wolves once, and I stopped, turned and looked at them, and made them disappear. They say lucid dreaming is a trapdoor to insanity. I have died many times in my sleep.

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

I woke up once when I was five and my skull felt like it was exploding, and I fell out of bed in convulsions, clawing my way out into the hall where I could let out strangled pleas for help.

when I was a child, I had night terrors so bad, I'd wake up screaming and sweating. I couldn't sleep without a light on. I had a recurring dream that witches wanted to come for me and chop off my fingers and toes. I went to bed every night clenching my fists and feet in the hope that when they passed through, they'd be tricked into thinking that my fingers and toes were already gone. I considered binding them up because I realized that as I fell asleep, they'd come unclenched.

one time I had a dream that the witches did come, and they lined up my family members and began slicing chunks of them off with giant knives. there was no blood though, they were potato inside.

it got so bad once, with the terror and such, that my mom decided to run a bath for me to calm me down. but when I went into the bathroom, my dreams had transferred into conscious hallucinations and I saw ghosts and demons swarming around the tub, which sent me into a screaming/sobbing fit even worse than before.

weird thing is, I'd never seen scary movies or read scary books. I think my idea of a vampire was count chocula. I don't know where the witches came from...maybe just from seeing halloween costumes.

to this day, I have extremely vivid nightmares at least 4 times a week.

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be?
Will I be pretty? will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be

When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead?
Will we have rainbows, day after day?
Here's what my sweetheart said

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be

Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be?
Will I be handsome? will I be rich?
I tell them tenderly

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be

fucking awesome! I still have vivid memories of similar dreams. I had the same floating/flying/levitating dream, where I was literally in my hometown flying the streets, exactly as they are mapped out in my neighborhood.

it was like I was the pilot, telling myself to turn left or right and I was visiting old friends houses along the way.

But it was real, the houses, the streets, they were all exactly as I had rememered growing up.

also, in a dream once,a witch once kidnapped my from my backyard and dropped me off in my bedroom, very out of body as you described.

I stopped smoking pot and my dreams became even more lucid/vivid.

it always revolves around all the people in my life gathering together in a field or something like that.

I'm a big fan of Waking Life by Richard Linklater

I had a weird hallucination type dream when I was about 9, of an astronaut. I was awake but could see one in the room coming towards me. It was unbelievably vivid. I was screaming my head off. Odd
