OK, so the golden ticket nickname got around quick, even to the Jimmy Fallon show. All we know is some of the CYH deluxe's came with Lee Majors or a random 7". Jimmy Fallon got one in his that was from Adrock's collection. I hope someone from the band could give a little more info on these. How many 7"'s exactly got thrown into those 2000 deluxes? How many Lee Majors and how many randoms? And is there a list of the randoms they could post here? And is there any significance to them at all? (influences, actual sample records?) or are they just spring cleaning and throwing them in for fun? i want to start a poll as to who got a lee majors, who got a random, and who got nothing. if you got a random, please post what it is. Maybe Yauch or someone can post some interesting info about them.
I got a 7" in mine by Tom Rush: A-side 'Who do You Love' and B-side 'On the Road Again'. It's scratched up a little and the sleeve is worn out some. Someone wrote 'candy' on the A-side. ... ... ... Where is this from?!?!?

ian c rogers: "to be honest I'm not so sure on the 7"s. mine was a new 7" (two new songs -- yes, songs I've never heard before) but apparently some people are getting 7"s from the Beastie Boys' personal collection here. I've asked, and they aren't telling me much. What they did say is that it's 100% random, they didn't know which 7" I was getting and not every package has a 7" in it. Sounds like a Golden Ticket sort of thing."

Mountain Cat 1M- "My 45 was The Delicates singing Little Ship and Not Tomorrow. It is a radio station copy with $1.99 sticker on the jacket. I thought that was quite odd but it all makes sense now after watching Fallen last night.

Alright, I'm taking full credit for tying the term "Golden Ticket" to the 7" in the CYH box.
I did it the first day those box sets started arriving in the mail:

Fallon's pretty cool I guess. I dig his unapologetic love for the Beasties.
I will allow him to use "golden ticket" without paying a fee to me.

I finally opened my CYH Deluxe Vinyl box last night, once I heard about these "Golden Ticket 7"s". I was REALLY hoping to find one, but unfortunately no dice. Too bad I don't have a valid reason to exchange it, hah.

The way the Beasties were talking on the Fallon show, it sounds like the random 45's might be the source of samples from the Hot Sauce Committee... I still haven't listened to mine yet, still trying to hook up my stereo system properly.
I'm waaaay more interested in knowing about all the randoms vs. "Lee Majors". Please post more info people...

I thought Roald Dahl did with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 1964.
Heh. Either way. You can take full credit.

The Tom Rush 7" is actually a couple of pretty good songs. On the Road Again isn't the song I thought it was. Turned out it was all about New York. I thought there might be a little significance to that so I checked out The Delicates. I came up with this http://www.geocities.com/williamstos/delicateseastcoast.html
and it turns out their story and record label are New York, too.
Coincidence? hard to tell because we only know of a couple 7"'s so far. What was the Jimmy Fallon one again? i forgot since i watched it and i can't access NBC online in my country. (go figure, I watch NBC in HD on TV and can't watch videos on their site:rolleyes:). So anyways...

i almost forgot to include scrappy's 45. http://tommixmusic.blogspot.com/2009/01/download-no120-nolan-buddle-quartet.html by the sounds of this, maybe this one is from money mark lol.. "He was something of a pioneer of electric keyboards and Hammond B3 organ" . and oh yeah.. not New York based this time lol

"Three of us here at Beastiemania got the deluxe edition and two of us got the bonus 7"... of course the unlucky bugger who didn't was me! I am still clinging onto the assumption (hope) that this will be mass released closer to the album.
And on the subject of the bonus 7"s we hear people are getting other random 7"s (not just the Lee Majors Promo 7"), like a :eek:Van-Dells Stax 7"... Now I really am jealous! Were these used as sample sources from the new album? I guess we will have to wait and see."

^ thank you
I figured there would've been a thread somewhere before but I couldn't find it so I thought it might have fallen of the board.
Have I been here too long to still use the "I'm new" excuse?
I'll try and keep up
:D
