Well, first of all, you should let dude know RJD2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf6i10nbWfM) totally already sampled that piano riff on the "Anymore Gimmicks" track (if it's not the same sample, it sounds an awful lot like it). No biggie as samples are constantly regurgitated, but he or his producer would probably want to know...
It's alright, a little annoying. I think MCs need to have a very unique voice or exceptional inflection to pull off rhymes that are so diction-heavy. You should tell him to keep it simple. His flow is a little too boring to be using such big words. I'm sure he's actually saying something, it's just hard for me to pay attention long enough to figure out what it is because of his voice.
The production is headed in the right direction though. It's not bad.

I don't think you need to be an authority on rap to determine that your friend is garbage. That's not to say that he's completely without skill. But he`s garbage. It's kinda like how Kevin Smith isn't necessarily a bad director, he just overdoes everything; his dialog is really forced, there's no natural interaction between any of his characters, the plots are thin and rely heavily on juvenile humor. His movies have their moments, I suppose. SOME. Except Clerks 2. I just hated that shit.

Come to think of it, I hated the first Clerks too.

i think part of the problem may be the recording or the mic. its soft spoken. i get the impression that this was recorded in an apartment with no soundproofing so he couldnt inflect more / be louder or something
