...who thought the three elderly men on the cover of Anthology: The Sounds of Science were the Beastie Boys years ago? :o This was long before I was familiar with the group. That was a nice collection, btw.

Hey! At least I realised my mistake! It seems Miho STILL doesn’t realise the front cover photo IS the Beastie Boys and no Miho that ISN’T Adrock on the cover of Ill Communication, but Mike D IS the son of Neil Diamond.

Yeah, I never realized that the beastie boys werent on the cover to Check Your Head but it was just three guys waiting for the bus....

It's a well known fact that the dog on the cover of Some Old Bullshit was a gift from Rick Ruben to the Beastie Boys. They named the dog Gleason and fed it expired items from the fridge that they all shared. Items fed to Gleason included cheese, chicken, butter, & various vegtables including corn. Thus they decided to name the album "Some Old Bullshit" in honor of Gleason.
One day Rick walked in and caught them feeding Gleason a hobo ball cheese sandwich. Obviously Rick was upset by this and decided his relationship with the Beastie Boys was over.(y)

For the Hello Nasty cover, Grand Royal held an international contest to find the 3 best lookalikes from across the globe (the contest used to be on the site www.iwannabeonthenextbeastieboyscover.com but it's no longer up) and it is in fact the lookalikes on the cover of the album in the tin can, not the Beastie Boys. The stand-ins are not credited anywhere in the album booklet for legal reasons but if memory serves me correct I believe it was Miguel Clay-Ramirez playing MCA, Marcus O'Halleran playing Adrock and Katsu Tanaka, from Japan, playing Mike D. That's why Mike D looks more Asian than usual in the picture. Also, contrary to popular belief, the photo was not in fact taken in space in front of the sun.
