Salon.com's (http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2009/06/16/president_mccain/index.html) "What if?" article takes a look at what McCain may have done in his first six months in office if he had the chance instead of Obama.

Let's just say it's good this article is only a "What if?" article.

wouldn't it be more like a What if Palin became president?

oh no

In other words, 30 days after the inauguration, McCain has fallen and he can't get back up so Palin has to take over? Good looooord.

What the fuck is the point of that article? It's become very obvious to me lately that mainstream liberals are just as delusional, irrational, and fearmongering as neoconservatives.

Yes, this is really nice.
A fine example of intelligent debate.

If a personal remark anywhere close to this was made about Obama you'd all be screaming for someone to be banned.

I suspect that things would be pretty similar, except that the supreme court nominee would definitely be anti-choice instead of us not knowing but suspecting that maybe she's pro-choice.

Obama certainly hasn't come in and changed Bush policy on all the "liberal" issues like privacy and I don't believe that he'll get the troops out of Iraq any quicker than McCain.

Honestly, maybe the best part of McCain losing is that Palin isn't VP. It's difficult enough to watch the coverage of her now as a non-entity. If she were VP it would be even worse. Biden is easier to tune out.

By the way, I like having Hillary as Secretary of State. That's worked out really well.

I use to think Biden was brighter than Palin. Now, I'm not so sure.
I find it disturbing that Biden said on Meet the Depressed that the administration and largely the Congress way overestimated the stimulus package and that instead of 3.5 million jobs created, now only 600,000.

How can they not have known how deep the recession was?
Unemployment is going up, not down. How can they claim to have "created" any jobs?
I guess I have to remember they didn't read the bill so no one really knew what it was going to do or not do before it was signed into law.

With everyday, he's making Sarah Palin look like a better choice.

in regards to self-promotion, well, that's a rather superficial and even silly charge, as almost everyone who leads or is active in public life engages in self-promotion, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The dude partied in the Playboy Mansion back in the '70s. Between Sesame Street and Playboy, Nader is a class act! (y)

Nader is the kind of guy that got stuffed into lockers a lot in HS.
He's the opposite of a leader.

I couldn't imagine how he'd handle things like the demonstrations in Iraq and the situation in N.Korea.
We'd be fucked.

We would have bombed Iran and North Korea.

Other than that, all would be well.
