More of what I've heard so far, and maybe a couple tracks where they would switch up the rhymes like they did on Super Disco Breaking, and Hello Nasty-era stuff. That'd be cool. But so far I've really liked what they've put out there.

Would be nice. Besides Licensed to Ill, Hello Nasty was my favourite... I would like another Intergalactic or Dr. Lee!

I'd like it to be exactly what Yauch said it would be a while back...a classic Hip-Hop album. Judging from "Too Many Rappers", it could be just that.
I wasn't too down with "Lee Majors Come Again" though.

Hello Nasty....seriously? NO no No nO non on n ono nono noon
In my humble yet reserved opinion I think they hit their most personal creative peek after CYH; even though IC is not quite the masterpiece to me that PB and CYH are, there is still something to be said about the creative juices that were flowing around that era. It all just seemed to come together; the old, the really old, the new, the live, the raps, the hardcore, the instrumentals, the bsides, the posse, the crew, the dj (sorry MMM fans), the home back in NY, the merchandise.........you know, even though IC was more polished than CYH which made it not as good in my opinion, it still all kinda came together. You know what I'm saying; Honky Rink, Mullethead, ViBes and Boomin Granny and I need not say more.
Anyway my point which I'm sure I have none is that I want that shit back; hardcore, old school, instrumental, live mixed with samples, songs that only feature one MC at a time, etc. Less the violin.............

When I said Hello Nasty, I meant the way they rhymed. The back and forth stuff, I thought that was clear since I prefaced it with Super Disco Breaking.
I want "Hello Nasty" part two.. minus the throw-away tracks PLUS a few hardcore tracks to give it that "Check Your Head / Ill Communication" vibe..
A few instrumental interludes also.. maybe a skit or two ("it does go well with the chicken" or whatever they said, shit like that... )
I don't want any guest spots unless they are ill rhymers...
Nas, Jay Z, Kool G Rap, Rakim, KRS-One? YES! YES! YES!
Lil Wayne, Diddy, Soulja Boy Tell'em, Black Eyed Peas? NO WAY!
..and I will be happy.
I also want Quasar to be the opening band for them on the tour...
There...
Also, after reading the other posts AFTER I posted, I would like them to rhyme like they did i songs like "The Move".. None of the 4 lines Ad Rock, 4 lines MCA and 4 lines Mike D shit..

In a perfect world, I'd like to hear a side of the boys I haven't heard before. On the same token, ideally, it would be nice for it to sound like they've taken their sweet ass time with it. Textures, layers, fully realized ideas. Definite elements of their known facets, but in different variations, and introducing some new flavors and experiments. And equal, balanced participation and enthusiasm. :)(y)

Christ, everybody wants a something part 2 - usually Hello Nasty. Why would they need to know what idiots (one of which I am) on the boards want? When you see the responses these threads get you really have to take your hat off to them for having the conviction to go with their own ideas, because there are always some fucking nonsense thoughts in these threads (inevitably).
I want less of people acting like their lives depend on getting more of what they want from a Beastie Boys album.

Ill Communication sounding would be awsome. Already sounds similar with Lee Major being a hardcore/rap sounding song, Too Many Rappers being a "Get It Together" type song.
Something Hello Nasty would def be awsome too. Something like Unite or Grasshopper Unit. Id def be up for a "Song For The Man or "Instant Death"feel as well. Either way something mixed like Ill Communication would be SiK.

i was gonna say the other day that i was a getting an ill communication vibe, just from the fact that there was a big rap star, a guitar based tune and that was about it but i think IC is there most diverse album in its range of tunes and that would be a good thing as i think the last 3 (including TMU) have all had a certain sound running all the way through in my opinion.

The Hip Hop style on "Hello Nasty" was not just the Beasties best, but some of the best Hip Hop ever as far as I am concerend.
I went to a wedding tonight and the bride and groom and all of their friends are Beastieheads... I got into a minor argument over "Paul's Boutique" vs. "Hello Nasty"... Both are great albums and PB is classic Hip Hop, but HN gets no love.. I don't get it..
I listen to HN more than I listen to PB. I'm tired of PB. As good as the samples and rhymes were, it is almost lo-fi and I am into some serious production and sound and HN is perfect... Again, IMO..

Well like I said in a previous post, take the filler out of HN and you still have a dope Hip Hop album... I don't see how "Sneakin' Out the Hospital" is a low point.. but if you take out the filer (depending on what you call filler), "Hello Nasty" would still be close to 40 minutes... I haven't heard any Hip Hop albums in the past 15+ years with 40 minutes of good music on it.

A lot of people go on about collaborations with everyone & their grandmother but although the Nas thing was cool, I dont want loads of collaborations on a bboys lp. Too many hip hop albums have too many collaborations - Yadda Yadda feat. MC Dickhead etc. etc., if I wanted to hear someone else I'd go buy their album.

I want less filler. More back and forth rapping (a la LTK, HB). Less crappy instrumentals. More decent colabs (ie. the new one with Nas). More Mario C. Less self-produced. More awesome B-sides.

If he wasn't doing live shows with them I wouldn't be attending more than 1 show/tour and definitely wouldn't have interest in seeing them as much w/o a new album/new tracks so they make more dollas with MMM in the lineup.

I like the overall sound of Mario C helping on the boards [and I miss it], but even when they were working w/ Mario, Dust Bros. or Rick Rubin they were still self-producing. They just had collaborators in the studio.

That is insane... "Hello Nasty" is incredible.
I don't think people understand what the BBoys were doing with TT5B. It's a throwback, they weren't trying to move forward, it was a tribute to New York City and old-school Hip Hop... I don't care much for Hip Hop pre-Run DMC and is probably why I didn't like it all that much. But whatever..
I think the new CD is gonna start off where "Hello Nasty" left off so if you think your statement is true, just wait around for "Relapse 2" and don't even buy the BBoys new CD(s)..

Listen to ME jerky......please, the smile got you the magic word lazy eye. I don't know what I'm talking about either but thats ok and really not important. I'm so gay I have that stupid stoned elephant inked un mine lego so I'm entitled a little dammit.
I really like TT5B, I like TMU a lot + all the bonus shit; best show of theirs I ever saw was in Berkley a few years ago with MMM behind them and I've seen them 16 times. Hurricane was a hack and I know that BUT.....BUT............BUT I'm tired of MMM's shit. They 2 me have always been more like a hardcore/punk band, even when it was straight hip hop, that whole attitude thing I can't even describe in words.....just like read some NOFX, Decendants, Adolescents, DK, Gorilla Biscuits, Reagan Youth, Anti-Pasti, Kraut, Even Worse, Germs, MT, BB etc. lyrics; something very special about this stuff. Anyway I think MMM has currents flowing one way while the BB's have them going another; his currents and influence or whatever are different, and not the kinda different i think is good. Especially HN, that album is so wack compared to every single other one including Cookie Puss. It's like the whole Rick Rubin thing, he was bad for them. Have you listened to She's On It, Rock Hard, FFYRTP or Beastie Groove lately? God I hope not that cause that shit is even worse then HN and that was all Rubin......yes he is a genius but not for them. Thank god they put enough of their stamp on LTI to cover up the shit.
So my point again is nothing; Rubin + BB = No Good, MMM + BB = No Good, Dust Bros + BB = Iconic, Mario + BB = Thank GOD, Hurricane + BB = old school hardcore awesomeness, Air Supply + BB = Maybe?, Biz + BB = Good cause they make each other laugh, Nas + BB = That stupid SOB never smiles and that's what I hate about that collab, etc etc etc.
You get my point right? Some people just challenge others in ways that bring out the best, MMM to me is just like a YES MAN, I love his skills and he is very cool but.........that's all I'm saying. Go listen to Sneakin out the hospital or whatever, that was all him.

If they had gone with Kid Koala, everybody would have found out that Mixmaster was the second choice and started ragging on Koala. I think MMM's noise-farts and eeeerrrooooorr pblpblpblbpblbl atonal style were very good on Hello Nasty, and I enjoyed his contributions to 5 buzz a lot.
I think the issue most have is with his live style, and I maintain that there is nobody better to have in that booth than an uber fan. Which Mike is. Sometimes there's a little dead space (a long lead-in when dropping the 900 number is a little weird compared to the way he could smoothly blend Shimmy Shimmy Ya into Sure Shot, but maybe it's a suspense thing), but I don't care.

I'm not convinced MMM had much to do w/ Hello Nasty, other than 3MC's and maybe a few other tracks. There isn't a lot of super-kinetic scratching on that record. Just the normal sort of filler scratch to lead into a beat change or chorus that they had been doing on CYH and IC.
For the record, I dig what MMM brings to the live show. He's good. But whatever. To each his own.
