Whoa that's great.
Sometimes I think they're completely and utterly lying about the release date.
I agree. If the album is to be released in September isn' it to early to play the new material? Maybe it's just a way to build a hype around the album but it definitely seems a long time.

Times have defiantly changed for releasing new material. How much of the blueprint 3 have we heard? (although, i guess, we still don't know if any of those songs will be on the blueprint 3)

i say it definately won't be too many rappers. i think it will be the debut of the first single, and i can't see the first single being the Nas track. that song is 50% Nas and the first single must be at least 85% Beastie Boys lol. It's gotta be big for the first single, like big enough for the encores at their shows.. that's how big;)
timmie
06-20-2009, 08:39 PM
Or a very clever way of marketing! as they have brought out the re-mastered pb, cyh and soon ill comm....a build up to a uk tour maybe! or even a single then album to drop very soon! again, must be a very cunning form of marketing. Either way I shall listen to a new track!:D

19:00 = 7pm, UK is 5 hours ahead of EST I think, so = 2PM?
Yes, but we're on EDT (daylight savings time) I think Britain is on an hour ahead also, so, GMT + 1 ?
Here's a link with a running clock/date
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=136
If you miss the show for various reasons, it seems you can listen to it for 3 more days: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wkth
I assume, that we won't hear some new snippets from the new record (I hope I'm wrong) ... I guess that the Beasties will pop in via phone call. Anyway I can't wait to hear what they have to tell.
are they actually previewing new material or are they just here to promote the re issues?

yup, conversion here: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html 2:00PM eastern time
"...plus the Beastie Boys drop in to present the Hottest Record in the World."
which implies that they are soon to release a single...which then as KP said makes a mockery of the release date.

According to my BBC sources they WILL be live in the studio and WILL be playing the first single from the new album, hope that clears it up for those who weren't sure...

Double A-side w/Sabotage, but yeah - GIT was the first song played on the radio from IC. I remember the local premiere here in Boston - WFNX, on a Saturday night. Then, the first time they played 'Sabotage', the DJ cut it off at the false ending.

i just got in and Zane Lowe was on radio in car and he JUST said they'd be playing new trackS from the forthcoming album(live in real life person). they might give a release date...or some idea of tour date!! bloody hell it's exciting but i'm still so nervous they're gonna tour here when i'm away.
Also, am listening online now and i think it's a new thing this week but you can watch the show in the studio. Not v interesting normally but bloody good timing seeing as the beasties'll be in there tomorrow!!!

I wonder if Nasty Little Man will issue a press release tomorrow.

Does American radio suck so bad that they couldn't unleash the new single via a New York radio station?

Does American radio suck so bad that they couldn't unleash the new single via a New York radio station?
Maybe they're just testing out a prospective single to see how people react. The reception of the track may dictate their choice of lead single.
Or maybe it'll just be Lee Majors. Who knows? Could by anything.

camo, again, you can't say anyone can envision a song the way the band invented it, capturing every little dynamic and effect.
the remixes have never done it for me, there was always a beat off somewhere or another.
it's okay though, I just know what I heard compared to what they just played, and I am happy with the final final cut.
Sounds like someone spiked Mike's Tofu.

Good guess, but no...that was "Hold the Line" by Major Lazer, which features Santigold.

You are on the internet....so it shouldn't be too hard to locate some.

Her name comes from the The Latin meaning 'Devil That Holds The Gold'. She's the lead singer from a Jamaican Heavy Metal band.
It's pretty common knowledge.

back in the day Zane Lowe interviewed the beasties on his mtv2 show and you could post questions through their forums and i posted under the name "ghostface killah" and he read my question and they joked about whether or not I was the real ghostface killah.
The question, incidentally, was who is their favourite rapper, and I can't remember their answer. The joked about how it was "ghostface killah" and MCA then gave a straight answer, but i can't remember who (some early 80's MC)
true story.
also: songs are sounding nice.

B-Boys in the Cut is pretty bland, but that's just me. I listened to it maybe 6 times and I'm bored with it.
Still enjoying Lee Majors and the youtube rips of Too Many Wrappers. They're sick. (y)

What's the chances of seeing a video released in July-August timeframe to help promote the album?

My thoughts exactly. It's gonna be my new "Triple Trouble" apparently.

^--- I was excited by the acapella. I was excited by the instrumental. The two together aren't all that great. They should just use DJ Zap's remix for the album.

I say almost certain, in fact wiht the timetable beeing what it is I say something comes out before the hit the next few festivals.
But that would make make TOO much sense.
Plus what do I know about viydi-hos (or anything else...)

Yeah true that. It's not bizarre it's bizored. I would have thouhgt releasing the acapella first and putting it at the mercy of so many remixers would mean the instro was on some untouchable next ish.

yeppers. i'm still confident that this beat is not the real deal. it's just way too boring and amateurish. the bboys at their worst is leagues and leagues beyond that garbage. plus, i don't think it's a coincidence that their performance of it at Ram's head didn't use this beat. We'll see what's up soon enough.
Lee Majors has really fuckin' grown on me though. What a banger!

I think Zap's should be on the B-side when BBITC is released as a packaged single. He deseves it, he makes great stuff that is always on point. This Interpartysystem (http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=122&p=6505&more=1&c=1) mix is pretty cool as well.

Was it confirmed they used a different beat at Ram's Head?

Did anyone notice how the Bboys in the Cut sample is the same used on the first cut of J5's Quality Control record? I knew it sounded familiar. Anyway I'm down for the new record but a little surprised they used the same sample and didn't alter the bassline used by J5 much.

It's probably just from their recording sessions. Watch the documentary "Scratch" if the concept doesn't make a lick of sense.

Dear Duff,
Dude, hate to say this, but that is wishful thinking at best. There is NO WAY they premiere that track on Radio 1 and it's not the beat. Plus, how do we know they didn't use the beat at Ram's head? Are we taking M2Ms word for it, cause that's the only place I've heard that and I have to assume she was mistaken?

I’ve been meaning to post this myself, yes indeed it’s the same.
Strange at first because true hip hop heads will link it to J5 and think of it as not a very original sample (even though most of us probably wouldn’t know the name or artist) I remember in 94 when I first heard Root Down, 3rd Bass had sampled the same Jimmy Smith on their song Steppin’ to the AM back in 89 (if I remember correctly) and I thought it was strange to use the same sample, especially because of the connection with the two groups and Def Jam etc etc etc
What I’m trying to say is... it didn’t take long for the mighty Root Down to become the definitive version of that song to use that sample and in years to come, I’m afraid J5 might not get a look in.
Even though it’s nothing like it sound wise, BBITC reminds me of the feeling of Root Down and that’s all I’m saying, in a very long winded reply!!!

Farrah Fawcett was once married to Lee Majors.
I am still feeling BBITC the least out of the three.

Apart from being a different (albeit similar) piece of music, the J5 sample is steel string. B-Boys in the Cut is not.
Fuck it though, the phrasing is pretty similar.

The most I would concede is that it's an example of what MCA said about them sampling stuff and playing along to it. He might have noodled over that piece of music and we got the noodles. If it's the beat.
