I support Fulham - Dempsey is a great player and Brian McBride is probably a top 10 Fulham player of all time, there are some really good American players but they often dont get the credit

but luca has a talent, scoring goals is it. he hasnt been so lucky with the national team of late but like i said his goal scoring record is unreal the past few years.

hell one of my favorite players is pippo inzaghi, and he has little to no skills to speak of. except being a MASTER at scoring goals. to say he sucks because he has no skills would be just as laughable. his skill is putting the ball in the net.

i would like to see pippo back in the national team fold though. the ageless wonder for sure.

totti never performed like he did for the azzuri as he did for roma. it didnt mean he shouldnt be picked for it.


overall i think loosing at the confederations cup was much more important for the italian team as a whole then winning would have ever been.

at best, they win a second rate tourny. by loosing it makes lippi realize he HAS to make changes to his squad.

he was using most all of the same player that italy won the 06 cup with. that team had no youngsters on it, every guy was in his prime 26-28. 3/4 years later those guys are getting older and slower. lippi has been very reluctant to include the likes of giovinco, ballotelli, motilivo, santon, osvaldo, aquafresca, santacroce, ect.

the only youngster lippi includded was rossi, and he had one of the better tournys for the italians. (lb)
