Glad to see Lee Majors is on that thing. Some dork usually comes along and speculates about what they think a song will sound like based on the title.....

I'm bummed that there doesn't seem to be a Biz collab on here. I was hoping all the recent playing shows together was because of hanging out in the studio and not just to promote CYH.:(

Aye aye. Sounds kind of fun.
As a vague pattern to their albums, the 1st, 6th, or 7th tracks often end up being singles ....so this time Tadlock's Glasses, Too Many Rappers, and Say It are the surefire hits.
Possibly.

Are they getting filtered as spam? That happened to me on my yahoo account. I had the settings so that any spam would be deleted automatically. I turned that option off, I found the next newsletter in my spam folder, then taught my account it wasn't spam, and it was all OK after that.

I love the cover. Beastie Boys + a Kitty = major WIN

Yauch's got the far off artiste look in his face. Mike's all incognito-esque and playin it cool in his shades. Horovitz is just gangsta with that "wat u gonna do'bout it look" he's throwin. Sigh they're so great. Why is life unfair and I don't have bottomless pockets and infinite spare time to work in the Chicago gig... I hope they SLAY at Lolla.

I'm just going to listen to the Nas song until I get sick of it. Then put the album away. And then listen to the whole thing once all of the usual gushing on here stops.

Hotel California comes up on my iTunes right after B-Boys in the Cut. It's an epic one-two punch, particularly since Mike D likes to get his Don Henley on these days. Can Hot Sauce Committee match that?

Mike also called Paul's Boutique "our Hotel California" back when it was about to come out.

There better be some hot sauce recipes included with the album or I'm going to be very disappointed.

It's time to let the secrets out! Stop hiding behind your music!

We don't want the music Beastie Boys, we want your hot sauce recipes!!!

I'm trying to get a confirm from my Scandinavian Art Director friend to see if Billion McMillions was involved.

Our team is very busy right now...

Question 01 - When did the new album get the title Hot Sauce Committee Part 1? I always thought the title was Tadlocks Glasses.

Question 02 - Isn't there a forum member named Hot Sauce? Any coincidence that the album has the same name?

03. isn't Hot Sauce in of itself a reference to the Beastie Boys?

everyone knows the So Whatcha Want lyric, but let's forget this gem from TT5B:

I keep that hot sauce hot not mild and weak
It's gonna burn your mouth until you wet your beak
I've got billions and billions of rhymes to flex
'Cause I've got more rhymes than Carl Sagan's got turtleneck

let's get it on.

"I'm not sure what the inspiration behind the cover is. When I was a little one -- the same time the Beastie Boys would be little ones -- it was very popular to paint black and white photographs in a feminine hue (because color film was rare), similar to the look of the HSC cover. I always found the results to be creepy. It reminds me of when they put make-up on dead people for funerals. It's unnatural.

Yauch with the cat, of course, mirrors the pic of Diamond with the cat on the Sounds of Science back cover. Perhaps Horovitz will be holding a cat on a future album cover?

I guess the thing that strikes me most about the cover is Yauch being in the rear and removed. He's looking down and away. Conversely, Diamond and Horovitz are walking almost side by side and looking forward. In other words, while Diamond and Horovitz seem to "be in it," Yauch is not. Perhaps the cat symbolizes other interests? That said, the band dynamic has always seemed that way (i.e., Yauch being more removed than the other two).

The really great thing about the cover is the intensity of Horovitz' stare"

Advertisements for cayenne sauces appeared in Massachusetts newspapers as early as 1807, according to some reports. In 1849, England's Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce was first imported into the United States from Great Britain.

Capsaicin is the chemical responsible for the "hot" taste of chili peppers. This compound is fat soluble and therefore water will be of no assistance when countering the burn. The most effective way to relieve the burning sensation it causes are dairy products, such as milk and yogurt.
