The album cover is showing up on many websites, including Rolling Stone. With the death of LP's, and CD's, there really isnt any cool cover art coming out. What a shame.

links?
The title, release date and complete track listing for Beastie Boys’ eighth studio album have been confirmed: Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 will be released September 15
that's from their PR site, so until I see a confirmation I'm not buying an album with that cover:cool:

Don't get to fired up about the two new "songs" on Ill Communication remastered, I have it from a good source that they are just recordings of stuff going on, not actual tracks.

care to share the RS link? I've done googled every track name and didn't see anything connecting the (alleged) artwork, except for a typography/font clue on the Congress website as posted by acamus

the two new tracks are basically snippets of audio that ran while they recorded random stuff but not actually songs.

maybe nothing to freak about, but still cool for collector's/beastie scholars. i'm really hoping we get some studio footage/interviews from the new album a la Depeche Mode's "Sounds of The Universe" recent short film. here's hoping there's some sincerity in the interviews too. i'm ready to celebrate the untimely death of irony for a while.

I agree. weak. Looks like a magazine opener spread, rather than an album cover. But I'm just happy that a cat got some play on the cover. I am taking note of past releases which either had a dog in the artwork or was soundbite, and the official count is:
Dogs: 8
Cats: 3 (including Hot Sauce)

Are you guys crazy? This is one of the coolest cover I have seen in years. The 70s-ish vibe it has is amazing!
Fresh from 09! :D

I agree, I like it. I mean they did time travel in order to take the pic and then paint/photoshop it.

yeah? it looks very now...you know what I'm saying? I don't really get a 70s vibe. interesting that Adrock has a beard though. and the cat of course.
I knew they were going with a pic of themselves. after TT5B (artwork) and Mix-up (which does have a small shot of them in it, but it's artwork)..it was them on the cover time. they like to alternate, which is cool.

Look at this Led Zeppelin cover: http://www.amazon.com/Early-Days-Best-Zeppelin-Vol/dp/B00002SSRG/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1245791472&sr=1-22
I've seen a bunch of albums from the 70's like that. The Beasties have that same style on the new cover. That is what I mean by the 70's vibe.

i think its good too. especially since yauch was explaining that it's a broken escalator, like there is a meaning about it, not just a silly picture. and even if there is no meaning, it's a cool ass album cover. i have this hardcover book with the top 100 album covers (licenced to ill is in it coincidentally) of all time, and it delves into the art of album covers a little bit, with a little history behind each one. anyways, the cover art for hot sauce committee part one is really good, IMO.. it makes you look around the pic and wonder about it, and the paint style is nice. why people just want to dismiss it right away? anyone's guess i guess

what does the broken escalator have to do with the title? I'm not arguing, just trying to get other people's take on it, that's all.
the thing with the cover why people sorta dissmissing it (myself included) is that it doesn't have that "classic" look to it much like LTI, Paul's, CYH, Ill Comm did when first viewing.. and still do. Don't have to tell you that album covers are pretty much a big deal to a lot of people (myself included ha, ha), hence the book!
It certainly doesn't suck, and it has charm...just we, or maybe I, expected something better. wow instead of meh.

Desire is the root of unhappiness. You people just have to get over it. It's just an album cover.

but you'd be right if St. Peppers was just an album of great songs.

Supposedly, there is a hidden Praying Mantis sitting on something that looks like a pot leaf, hidden in the jungle. You have to use Tadlock's Glasses to find it. These special glasses will come in the Deluxe Edition CD Eco-Pack, and when worn will show all kinds of hidden shiizle in that jungle and in Ad-Rocks beard.
