Hey,
Noticed how in the last 10 years, the beasties have only released hip-hop songs where they each have their verses, and rap after each other, compared to their older stuff where they use to bounce off each other and finish the others' sentences?
Well I much prefer the second case.
And on HSC Pt 1, it's half-half. Which, for myself, is great news!!
Peace

Ouai, pareil. Moi je les compare à Riri, Fifi et Loulou (Huey, Dewey and Louie) ! :D

I have always thought that it's one of their biggest strenghts, how they are able to finish each others' sentences and create these wonderful lyrical acrobatics. It's rhythmically and sonically very interesting and pleasing.
That's why I didn't like TT5B as much as I could have, because they almost always rap 4 bars alone and then switch up. And the song structures were almost identical. I hope that with Hot Sauce Committee pt. 1, we'll get songs that have structures with a lot variety and that are surprising.

Although I did like TT5B, I do agree that when they would finish each others rhymes and bounce back and forth off one another, it added a whole other level. As a listener it was killer hearing that...I'll take any rhymes the guys send our way but yeah, the tag team rhymin is stellar!!!!

I'm thinking this is a subtle way of saying Top10 has heard the album.

word'ems. paul's boutique and hello nasty both rocked a whole lot of the unity rap style, my fav as well. check your prostate and ill communication i feel lacked the vocal swirl. tt5b, definitely abused the democratic turn-taking stylee.

Check Your Head had some nice rhyme swapping at least in Jimmy James and Finger Lickin' Good [to a lesser extent]
I prefer the swapping, but I'll gladly take a few solo tracks or 16 bar verses like Professor Booty, or 3 Minute Rule over every single song having the exact same structure as Flute Loop.

I really enjoy the structure on An Open Letter To NYC:

It's cool the way each one gets the first and the last stanza of each verse.
But in general, it was a lot more fun when they would complete each other's rhymes. They still do it live so it's all good.

I liked TT5B but I admit it was mega formulaic. The prospect of them rapping like they did in the old days is music to my ears.

I meant Sure Shot. They both have flutes, and I couldn't edit for some reason. Flute Loop is one of my favorite of the 4 bar tracks.

I remember I did a thread like this a while back. I think I said I like them equaly. Songs like "The Move" an "Super Disco Breakin" its soo good. But I dunno I think the 4 bars thing I like better. TT5B was SiK to me, I loved it.

If every song has the exact same structure it gets boring over an entire album. Just my opinion and opinions are like assholes. We all have them.
