White House Press Sec Finally Gets Some Push Back. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh5vzOAEQ-A)

So it appears the honeymoon is over and the press are finally going to start doing their job of questioning Obama instead of constantly celebrating him.
A town hall meeting, which is supposed to be open to the public, are invited and hand picked guests from the college and White House staff only. They're packing the house with ringers and controlling what does and doesn't get asked.
Also, reporters are said to get calls the night before a press conference and told that they are going to be allowed to ask their question the next day, thus allowing Obama time to prepare the responses of any questions, thus giving him the opportunity to look brilliant when responding to the "tough" question.

THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES!!!

You know things are fishy when you're a Democrat and you have Helen Thomas calling you out.

oops. I feel like they always control town halls in a way though. when bill clinton came through my town when I was younger, they had a "town hall" and they most definitely pre-approved the questions and decided who could ask them.

the calling reporters thing the night before is a little weird. they better cut that shit.

The press secretary is just so fucking smug.
Don't ya just wanna smack him in his condescending face?

Reid: The Audience is all pre-selected, right?

Gibbs: MMM, No, we normally just hand out the tickets on a "first come, first served" basis.

Reid: I think in this case the people were invited by either the White House or the University. It's very tightly controlled. The concept of a "town hall" I think is to have an open public forum and this sounds like a very tightly controlled audience and list of questions. Why do it that way?

Gibbs: How about this. You can ask me that question tommorrow based on what questions were asked rather than pre-selecting your question based on something that may or may not come true.

Yeah, Chip Reid just caught you lying, asshole.

In other words, allow us to air our "town hall" propaganda first.
Hell, we'll even throw in a hardball that Obama will be fully prepared to answer that'll hopefully apease the critics.
Then tommorrow after we've pulled the wool over the public's eyes, you can ask me why we controlled the setting.

If you think back to the debates with McCain, and even with Hillary, the big knock on Obama was that he was horrible answering questions off-the-cuff. He was much better speaking from prepared speeches.
His use of multiple teleprompters has been criticized from day one.

And now the White House is asking the press to e-mail questions?
What, so the white house can again screen which questions they want to answer?

The obvious attempt to control the media should be alarming to everyone.

The thing about thinking back to McCains campaign is he had his political rallies completely controlled, every aspect except I do believe him when he says he never endorsed the blatant racism that enjoyed his stumps across the Country.

Are you fucking serious? You're bitching about a controlled media session? After every single media outlet in your country spent years bending over backwards to accommodate Bush & Co.'s outright fucking lies that led you into an atrocious and disgusting war?

You are really, really reaching here dude. Call back when Obama slaughters thousands of your soldiers for no reason. To say nothing of all those Iraqi civilians.

No, this has nothing to do with a controlled media session, DUDE.
Did you even watch the link before spouting off, because it doesn't sound like you even know what the fuck is being discussed here, DUDE.

Go watch the link and see if you can come back and accurately describe what's being discussed here, DUDE.
