What are you all doing?
I suppose since the ball and chain o building where I work at is near by the Hudson, I'll be going to the roof of the place and watch the fireworks with the mrs.
It's the first 4th of July that I can actually enjoy for like 5 years. Every 4th then, I was working but finally it's on a Saturday.

do ye get the day off work when its a weekday?
oh and happy independence day america.
I had the day off Friday for the 4th, but since that is the 'official' day, I have to work a 1/2 day today.... bullshit. I get out at noon though, all in all, not too shabby....

If a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, the employer gives off on Friday. If it falls on Sunday, they give off Monday. Free time off no matter what. (y)
I'm going to check out the memorials downtown with Brett and his bro today, then heading to Arlington to watch the downtown fireworks from someplace high. Then, back to Alexandria to get trashed. I love DC.

I'm pretty crabby that it's cloudy and not very warm. it's supposed to rain later too. buncha bullshit.
I'm going to a rooftop party though, last year the view was amazing, but the party was lame balls. although I did get to play wii.
before that I'm going to a bbq thrown by a dear, but not-so-close-because-we-don't-have-much-in-common friend to play bags/cornhole with some people I don' t know. I bet they're going to ask me what I do for a living. and maybe where I'm from. I CAN'T WAIT!
I AM CRABBY AMERICA!
I need to light things on fire, ASAP

im at my parents this weekend and will do absolutely nothing today.
i have the house to myself all day and will enjoy playing with four dogs in the yard and possibly listening to music on my dads ill ass sound system at full blayast.
then around 7pm ill head out to my boy-in-da-awmy-wit-salawmis-pleese's annual gigantic barbeque where i will eat lots of meat, light explodey things on fire, drink lots of beers and probably play drums or guitar(y)
I won 42.50 euro on lotto.

Yess it is a fantastic and beautiful day.
I'm actually on 12th and 41st. I didn't feel like going all the way to work. I'm laying on the street and waiting for the works to start in about an hour.

What an awesome show that was!!!
Squares, smiley faces, fireworks that wondered around when they were let off!
I'm so glad I saw this.

Yeah! That's what I meant to say instead of wondering around. I have never seen anything like those.
I'm bringing a video camera next year.

I just got back from a long weekend in Beijing, I kind of forgot it was this weekend :o but as I've not been in the US for a 4th of July now for a solid ten years, well, you know... not much of a loss I guess. I do like fireworks though, but I hear they have some of those here in China now and again.

It was a gorgeous perfect, hot and sunny, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky day here too. We get decent fourth of July weather about once every 7 years so it was a real treat. Anyway, I am so glad my body waited to inclubate this virus until Sunday because it was a great 4th. We floated the Green River in tubes, BBQ'd pulled pork sandwiches, threw the football and frisbee around and generally just chilled.
