Yes, the over-effort was painful. Maya was good for the role and played it well. Not her fault the script sucked, I suppose.

I don't think John Krasinski has much to say as an actor, either comedic or otherwise. He fits his role in The Office nicely, but even that character is beginning to get old and pretentious. I'd like to see Maya Rudolph break out a bit though, she seems like she can handle a bit more than comedy. Her small part in A Prairie Home Companion was likable enough.

I will say I never really connected with the characters as real people though. I didn't think the acting was very good on the part of the leads. I didn't cry at all, and normally I'm the biggest cry baby ever. it must have been because I knew there'd be a happy ending. I wanted one for them, I admit, because sometimes it's just nice to see a happy regular story.


That indie movie spoof was pretty funny. I'm sick of hand drawn fonts too and I'm mad so many movies have ruined that look because I liked it a whole lot at first. Now it's like, "come on, the horse is dead. next idea please!"

(and I think that Say Anything video is the dumbest shit I've ever seen in my whole life.)
