Looks like you can pre-order it on Amazon, but I'm wondering if they'll be doing a deluxe vinyl/t-shirt package like with the other 2 reissues, so I'm holding out.

Before anyone points out the obvious, yes I am a dork, but I have been checking the site every 30 or so minutes since 12:01 AM this morning EST. It said on Nasty Little Man website that "pre-orders for the expanded, remastered multi-format Ill Communication will begin July 6". I assumed there would be a collectors edition with some kind of bonus (like the poster, 4LP box set or something). I hope that there is just some kind of glitch and that details will follow.

You can watch the video commentary for free, too, by the way. It was pretty good, but warning: it takes a few songs before the band really wakes up :D so grab a snack at the beginning, or take the dog outside, or whatever you do, and be prepared to be entertained for the second half of it, actually starting around get it together. :eek: i think they should have rerecorded the first 6 tracks commentary when they were finished the album, after the green teas, sodas, and coffees kicked in

So who really executed the remastering of the sound? I though it was the Beasties, but in the video commentary Ad-Rock doesn't even know what songs are on the LP, so obviously they did not sit down and remaster the tracks.(n)

IC is such an awsome Beastie Era !

They were in their prime for IC. They were actually voted the coolest band on Earth. The world was obsessed with the beasties in 94-95, everybody wanted to be them, they set musical and fashion trends, their videos spawned countless copy-cats. IC is pretty much the only album I can listen to without skipping a single song. When it came out, it brought me back to rap music, which I thought was on its death bed with the rise of Snoop Dogg and the likes :).



Who else can rap about golf and get away with it? :) Freak freak is yet to gain recognition it deserves, love it.

As far as rap videos go, Sure Shot would have to be one of the best, agreed?

you know what i don't like? well i'm gonna tell ya anyway. all three of the new remasters have a smaller photo for iTunes than when you just import them and let iTunes find the artwork. they are shorter than the standard iTunes artwork. AND (and this one really bugs me) TT5B's artwork has black bands top and bottom in iTunes. this SUCKS! wassup b-boys ... er, TOPSPIN?

I am listening to the new remaster right now.. The "Heartattack Man (acoustic)" is the session from where the begining of the song came from.. and the "Atwater Basketball Association File No. 172-C" is nothing to go crazy over.. it is just them playing basketball.. haha!!

I had hoped that they would have added the longer into to "B-Boys Makin' with the Freak Freak" or wherever that was on the CD. Does anyone have this version? (If not, I have a friend who might still have the cassette I originally heard it on).

One more thing, does anyone have the no-swears version of this album?
