Never tried it when I was younger, always thought it'd be lame; everyone I knew who was into it seemed WAY too into it. I just watched an episode of Spaced with the two characters reenacting a war scene during a paintball match, and now I can't believe I might actually try this dorky hobby. Anyone here ever try it? Was it what you were expecting? Better, worse? Also I'm 27 years old now, but I guess that really doesn't bother me, though.

I've only played paintball twice, the last time about a decade ago. shit was mad fun. guns are cool. hurts a lot if you get shot in the head though.
a while back I was watching some random ESPN channel and saw some paintball guys running about behind these sponsored inflated obstacles. seems as though for some it's more than a dorky hobby, it's a dorky job. however hiding behind big balloons kinda detracts from the whole point of paintball, which is to play out various Rambo fantasies and kill charlie in the trees.
Never had a boner for guns other pixels on a screen but the space episode makes me laugh. Plus my ankles are made of chocolate so I am just scared I will go home injured, as I tend to do in these sorts of games. But I can see it as fun, when I was in the states I did half think about going to a gun range - but I am unsure if they'd let tourists in...

"What do you think this is; Vietnam?"
Played paintball once. It was probably the worst arena in the world and it was run by some sadomasochistic cock. We only got 1 game of capture the flag in the woods, and the rest of the time we were in a 20x20 foot patch of land with no real obstacles to hide behind ('keep moving, lads - anyone who doesn't will be eliminated') or a 20x20 foot patch of land with the shittiest wooden fort in the history of shitty wooden forts where people could just lean over the 2 foot wall and shoot you square in the arse from point blank range.
Getting hit by a paintball hurts like fuck, and I remember reading a week or two before I went about some guy who got shot in the jugular on his stag do and died, so I spent the whole time having flashbacks of reading that article and shitting myself.
When you bear all this in mind and then I tell you that I still had a good time, I think you can tell that paintball is a hell of a lot of fun ;)

Only been twice with school quite a while back, I remember it being shitloads of fun though.
One time I went on a Tango & Cash style rampage with my short, fat, bald Maths teacher. We seriously took out pretty much their whole team single-handedly. We were being all tactical like, clearing buildings through windows and doing pincer movements and shit. It was one of the most surreal/awesome experiences ever.
The other time I capped this Irish alcoholic RE teacher about 20 times as he was crossing a bridge then shouted "OWNED". I thought I'd get away with it but he gave me a right bollocking after about being "unsportsmanlike" because he recognised my voice. (n)
I was asked today if I wanted to go paint balling - I said no.
