Someone gave me one and I made some whole wheat bread last night (recipe out of the user manual). Came out pretty good (minus the large whole the machine leaves in the middle of the loaf)
Had to take it out while there was still 23 minutes left on the `whole wheat bread`cycle. I can`t even imagine having left it in there a further 10 minutes, so really I already distrust the goddamn thing.

It does not give off the same potent smell as baking bread in the oven though. Im somewhat disappointed in that aspect of it.

I may still use it alot for the kneading and punching down process. That aspect of it is pretty darn awesome.

I need to buy some powdered milk, all the recipes seem to ask for it (I just used real milk and added a lil extra flour...)

why did you take it out early?

The outside was getting far too dark brown and was about 3 minutes away from being over-done.

I have one. I'ts pretty wishy washy as far as the outcome. The aroma it puts out is nice. I found out that if you use fresh ingredients, rather than using boxed bread machine mixes, it comes out way better. Sifting the flour does wonders too.

Everyone I know who's ever gotten one uses it a few times and then it ends up at the back of the cupboard accumulating dust or garage sale bound...we got one 2 years ago and exchanged it unopened for a pannini press...which is the best return of a gift I've ever made...
