Are there certain jobs, espcially in the public eye, that serving your time for a crime you committed should be enough to continue that job?

I understand the publics concern about him responding to a fire. Doesn't seem like saving any animals would be of a concern to him. And if you can take a life that cruely, I wonder how he would treat people in certain situations.

Saving human lives and having the will to kill innocent animals for the sake of saving some money and bragging about it seem to be a conflict of interest.

what a piece of shit (n)

woah, thats a bloody awful thing to do. Even if you had money problems , i mean couldnt you sell them or give them away? hang on , just thought as i am writing this: if he had money worries what the fuck was he doing going on a cruise? I was gonna say that just because had issues in his private life doesnt necessarily mean he would bring that to work but having thought about it a bit more, i'm not sure the guy deserves a job let alone his old job. I know that he has been sentenced and "appears" to be sorry but i think the fire dept should not give him his old position back, not for a long time at least.

I do not condone the murdering of animals, but I don't get enraged by it.

My feelings regarding this are as follows: animals are property. PROPERTY. While he should not have killed them (killing them either heinously or 'compassionately' being not relative to the point), they are his property, and he should be able to do as he pleases. No use in locking up someone for selling their car or junking it . . . . . . .

People who are willing to harm or kill animals have a greater potential to harm humans. I guess the department is letting him stay on out of pity for him but I doubt he will ever be trusted again.

http://www.wate.com/global/story.asp?S=9029983So killing animals is the gateway to more serious murdering? I don't buy it. Anyone ever study biology on a frog or mouse?

that man is a monster. I feel sick to my stomach. he could have taken the time and effort he used to kill them to find a place for them. disgusting. There are so many more heinous things people do everyday. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be punished, but I'm much more enraged by people killing people.

To the original point, I don't think someone who kills animals in this way should be allowed to be thought of as a hero. No, if you commit a crime like this, you should not get to go back to your prior life after you serve your time. You can go work at a animal shelter or soup kitchen, though.

I didn't read the article because I can't stand hearing/reading/seeing anything about cruelty to animals but I believe that people who inflict deliberate, violent, sadistic abuse and death on animals eventually do the same toward humans. There is no question in my mind.

i dunno, i was going to say that it takes less bottle to hurt a human and it doesnt necessarily lead to that but then again those dogs werent able to defend themselves and there would be plenty of humans that cant defend themselves. so maybe. i'm not saying its brave to hurt people btw.
