Apparently on Crazy Ass Shit, never been a fan to be honest would have preferred Q-Tip, de la Rocha etc...

If this proves to be true, it's excellent news. I remember hearing Jay say he liked TT5B...

Q-Tip sucked on "Get It Together".. atleast the version that is on the new "Ill Comm" musically is better than the original.
Zac De La Rocha wouldn't work because he yells just like they do.
I can't think of who would mesh well with them. They are sooo original and most rappers out their are.. 'crabs'.. so.. although, I am listening to the La Coka Nostra CD right now and a Beastie Boys / LCN collab would be like as supergroup of white rappers (even though LCN already is).. THAT could work.. Beasties & Cypress Hill too..
The Boys should have organized Jay-Z and Nas together on one of their tracks, and make it be a fun rap battle, to reminisce on their past beef, but nothing serious this time.
Anyways, I'm not a big Jay fan, but it may be an interesting collaboration.

Jay Z + Nas on a bboys track together = something way better than great
Jay Z + Nas trying to play up some played out shit from 8 years ago on a bboys track = NO!
Just to clarify.

Well, it's Wikipedia so I'm always a little skeptical.
If you want me to, I could make Lil' Wayne appear on "Funky Donkey."
I still wish the Nasal Poets put something out. Back then at least, not now.

If you heard one of his songs, you pretty much heard them all. I think "Blueprint" was his best if I had to pick.

With the exception of a couple good lines on "Get It Together", Q-Tip freestyled the whole thing and he sucked at it.. ALSO, the version that is on disc two is NOT the best remix, they should have used the one with the sampled Three Dog Night loop instead..
Thanks Kid Presentable, I'll take that as a compliment coming from you..

Lets put it this way, if he wrote that shit before he did the record, he completely fell off after the 3rd Tribe Called Quest album because those lyrics suck.. Let's review, shall we..
1-2 1-2 Keep It On
Listen To The Shit Because We Kick It Until Dawn
Listen To The Abstract Got It Going On
Listen To The Ladies Come On And Let Me Spawn
All Your Eggs Then You You Go Up The River
Listen To The Abstract That Freaky Nigger
And My Moms Is Not Butt, But Fuck It
Let Me Get Down To The Rhythm
Yes I'm Getting Funky And I'm Shooting All My Jism
Like John Holmes, The X-rated Nigger
Listen To The Shit 'Cause I'm The Ill Figure
Nobody's Getting Any Bigger Than This
Ad Rock Down With The Ione
Listen To The Shit Because Both Of Them Is Boney
Got To Do It Like This Like Chachi And Joanie
Go One Two Like My Name Was Biz Mark
But I Had To Do The Shit Just Let Me Embark
On The Lyric And The Noun And The Verb
Let's Kick The Shit Off 'Cause Yo, I'm Not The Herb
Because I Had To Talk About The Times That I Rhyme
And When M.C.S Come In My Face, I'm Like Mace
Because I Back Them Off With The Quills
Nigger 'Cause I Tell You, Nigger 'Cause I'll Keep You Under Prills
Resting On Nine One One Sixteenth Ave Off The Farmes Boulevard
I've Got The Timbos On The Toes And This Is How It Goes
Oh One Two, Oh My God
Never Ever Ever Fucking Wack
I Eat The Fuckin' Pineapple Now & Laters
Listen To Me Now, Don't Listen To Me Later
Fuck It 'Cause I Know I Didn't Make It Fuckin' Rhyme For Real
But, Yo Technically I'm As Hard As Steel
umm, yeah ok... do we really need proof?
But anyway, from Beastiemania:
"We'd been wanting Tip to get on a track for a while, so one night we played him the track, and he was like, "This shit is funky, I could rhyme on this." So Mario, as usual, wasted no time in handing him the mic. Tip freestyled a few takes, and then we fit our rhymes around his" - Michael Diamond, 1999

I think it was a freestyle, but it's not wack.
On the IC track by track commentary the Boys talk about how Tip laid down really lose lyrics (i.e. Freestyle) and then they cut them up and added their rhymes around his.
While we are talking about the commentary, how about the part where MCA clowns Ad-Rock about how much blow he was doing around the time of IC!:D
Back to the Jay-Z. He's not going to be on HSCp1 or we would of heard about it somewhere beside wikipedia.

I would have expected something 100X better from Q-Tip than what he did on that track.. Read those lyrics again.. not good.. maybe good for Lil Wayne in 2009 but not Q-Tip in 1004...
The Beasties verses aren't that great either but atleast the effort is there.. the only way I can listen to this song is to listen to the one from the single with the Grand Funk Railroad (oops not Three Dog Night) sample..

Those simplistic lyrics/verses Q-tip layed down on Get It Together are pure classic material in my opinion. That verse and song as a whole is way more memorable and quotable to me than many of the over baked, overwritten filler verses that the B-Boys often drop when their game is off...ONE TWO, OH MY GOD.

Well, then we highly disagree... I think that is the reason why they didn't have guests on their albums for so long, becuase people can't hang.. Q-Tip's voice sounds great on that record but his rhymes straight up sucked....

It's true, you could tell Q-Tip's rhymes weren't up to par for him, but I still like the song. You could also tell that all 4 of them were just having fun together and screwing around, which makes it cool in its own right.

So he did freestyle, crazy. I still reckon it sounds SiK though. I like all Tip's stuff though, Solo & Tribe.

Tip may have called it a "rumor" but i think it was more of a joke/idea put out there by Ad-Rock. I remember reading once that Ad-Rock asked Busy Bee to join up, and Busy just looked at him "like, who the hell are you?" :D

Huh? If Q-Tip didn't have any fans, he would be nothing. I think fans have a right to an opinion.
