Thee Beasties aren't the only ones releasing deluxe remasters. Anyone else excited by this:

Especially like the idea of the lemon shaped USB drive. The Beasties could've had a lot of fun with something like that. HSC2 perhaps!

Yes and No

Yes - the written stuff, a couple of unreleased tracks (although they are probably weak), the lemon usb, the artwork.

No - the live stuff (i'm afraid they just werent that amazing live), the price, the fact that silvertone have chucked this stuff out so many times and are still "finding" stuff thats never been out before, the price.

I mean its nice to celebrate the anniversary but it stinks a bit. Its a bit different to the bboys because they are still going and put more than two albums out. I mean the roses first album is ONE OF THE GREATEST ALBUMS EVER MADE, but you dont need all that stuff to go with it unless you are mental, I will try and get my hands on the unreleased tracks somehow but i got bored trying to collect everything that silvertone put the roses name on about 10 years ago.

Yeah, this sort of thing is overkill. Surely the album alone is good enough? This is just milking it.

It's always the same when a great band puts out 1 or 2 albums. Sex Pistols is a great example:

Studio album

* Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols (28 October 1977) # 1 UK, # 106 US

Compilations, live albums and other official releases

* Spunk (early recordings) (bootleg release—1977; official release—24 June 1996, as part of Spunk/This Is Crap, bonus CD included with Never Mind the Bollocks reissue; official stand-alone release—15 August 2006)
* The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (various artists soundtrack) (2 March 1979) # 7 UK
* Some Product: Carri on Sex Pistols (interviews and radio spots) (3 August 1979) # 6 UK
* Flogging a Dead Horse (compilation) (8 February 1980) # 23 UK
* Sex Pack (compilation) (21 November 1980)
* Anarchy in the UK: Live at the 76 Club (live) (bootleg release—1985; official release—13 November 2001)
* Kiss This (compilation) (5 October 1992) # 10 UK
* Filthy Lucre Live (live) (29 July 1996) # 26 UK
* Jubilee (compilation) (3 June 2002) # 29 UK
* Sex Pistols (box set) (compilation) (10 June 2002) # 160 UK
* Raw and Live (live) (15 September 2005)
* Agents of Anarchy (compilation) (30 November 2007)
* Live & Filthy (live) (26 August 2008)

Says it all really.

I might get this. I've always hated the sound quality on the CD (and the cassette) copy I have of it. I only really need a remastered version. But 180 gram vinyl is tempting. And the packaging for the collectors edition is actually is pretty impressive. I see it as an appreciating asset.

if all you have had previously is an old cd and not bought a load of other stuff and you can afford it then yeah go for it, if i had some spare cash i would be all over it, i'm just pissed off that they have "unearthed" a load of tracks that they could have put out instead of a load of crappy remixes every three years. the tracks migh not be much but it would have been nice to hear these demo's before now.

Yeah, I only ever invested in the two albums and Turns Into Stone, so I'm good. This will be money well spent.

Yeah thats my reasoning too but I agree with the comments about Silvertone. They have always milked it and have put out some pretty awful releases.
