my friends dont listen to techno
Friends don't let friends listen to techno.
Actually I like D&B from 1993 - 1998.
I love a lot of breakbeat from the same era.
Never got into a lot of house, especially that eurotrash house.

friends who dont listen to techno dont know what techno is so they end up calling things that arent techno techno and its a vicious circle and they miss out on some really good music
D&B, breakbeat, house and techno are all different genres.

indeed, i used to hate the whole genre and sub genre thing but its a necessary evil when people say "techno" is crap and they ar talking about chicane or summat. incidentally chicane's new single is possibly the worst cover version EVER. he's ripped the soul out of that sigur ros tune.
i digress.
kenny larkin, thats proper techno

seriously tho, planetary, you should just investigate labels, producers or emixes of stuff you like already and discover it yourself, there is just way too much out there.

have a butchers round these sites and similar ones and just look thru the genres and see what you like, its the best way to get some names and idea of what you like

i recommend the following in the techno/electronic/house/dance genre.
MSTRKRFT
Justice
A-Trak (especially his FabricLive mix)
Switch
I have seen all of the above live, and they all throw down it properly.

i'd say its cheaper and less hassle to get more stuff i have done off the internet. Its in lancashire btw , i know its difficult for planetary living in west bromwich where they cant afford maps.
Robert - That mix is the only thing i have done for ages.
there are a coupla older ones here http://mozchops.podomatic.com/ but if its the tunes on the other mix you really liked then check the tracklisting and have a search about for similar stuff.
I got all that off a site called www.djdownload.com. Just have a butchers in there, i would guess that electro and tech house are your genres if you liked my mix.
thanks for checking it out(y)(y)
cool, thanks
one thing i just noticed is that itunes has a radio function - there's loads of genres, and and hundreds of streaming radio shows under each one. the techno stuff seems pretty cool, as far as i can tell

i should have said as well that www.podomatic.com where i put my mixes has fuckin loads of mixes on for all genres, there are a lot of house/techno ones on there as well that you can just stream and there is a lot of choice.
Never had you down as a technohead bob. but maybe you have taken inspiartion from your avatar.

More on a drum and bass/old school rave tip than techno but, shit, this tune is simply enormous.

I'd say being from West Bromwich was preferable to being from Wolverhampton though.
