I'm going to be in the Los Angeles area on Friday through next week, what should I do? We're supposed to go to the Venice beach area, Santa Monica, Hollywood, etc but is there anything I should definitely see/do while I'm there?

I also liked Venice Beach. It's sorta touristy but it's weird and fun. The LACMA is great, too.

Anything doesn't really work for this town. We have amazing muesums that hold priceless works of arts as well as a mueseum for neon, wax, rabbits, Jurassic Technology, death, etc. You gots to narrow it down.

Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, West Hollywood, Sunset, Hollywood Blvd, Melrose, Farmers Market, Dodger games, etc...

I like venice beach too. :o

I did a lot of hipstery tourist stuff the last time I was there with my bestie...went to the dresden, and that place...shit, I forget the name, a deli and bar where Guns'n'Roses used to hang out or something. and hung out in Silver Lake and went to Spaceland (where I sadly missed out on meeting dandyfop because they were at capacity by the time she got there and I wasn't allowed to leave and come back in either). went to a show at the UCB theater, etc. etc.

I have some really good friends that live there though, so I was carted around the whole time. I wouldn't have even thought of going to those places really. They just decided to take us to a bunch of famousy places we hadn't been to before.

ah, I did make them take us to Melrose, which was pretty disappointing. no famouses anywhere! just some douche I didn't recognize posing for papparazzi outside of a douchey clothing store. We went to WESC, which was kinda lame because they didn't have the headphones I wanted. but when we walked it, a salesgirl whispered to us "everything's 70% off", and we were like, "wha? does she think we're famouses?" Cordo found a pretty sweet dress though that only ended up being around 35 bucks after the discount.

There's a pretty awesome strip club called NUDES NUDES NUDES real close to the airport. And by awesome I mean it has filthy black carpeting everywhere and porn store attached to the side. Not to be missed!

Also, go to the Sunset Strip, I always seem to have fun at those snobby bars where I play it off legit. There used to be one with the mechanical bull!

Last - go to the pacific ocean at Malibu Beach. Malibu is fucking awesome, the locals hate it but, then the locals are gay, so don't listen to them. Malibu is awesome. There is a seafood place called "Dukes" that is quite nice because the ocean literally hit the window outside on a stormy day. Again the locals hate it, but don't listen to them for the aforementioned reason.
