Closing time here (in the UK) is normally around 11pm but you could loiter beyond that. There is always some place open but they are few and far between.

I just mean normal pubs close at 11pm. I suppose not so much anymore since 2000 and there is plenty of places but they are bars normally rather than pubs. And unless you are into expensive bottled crap beer, they aren't really the place to go. You can't get good local real ale at many places pass 11pm is what I am saying.

we got a 2 am call where i live. its ok. i wouldnt mind the b-lo's 4 am call time. i dont get how just an hour away and its allowable to stay getting plowed at bars for an extra 2 hours. wtf?

For us, on the weekends, pubs have to close at 1 and night clubs close at 3, but you cant enter a night club any later than 12.30.

A good thing about living on base was the shop sold beer 24/7.

I love NY because all of the stores don't have a beer time limit.

Yeah, there's a 4 hour window in NY between 4am and 8 am on Sundays where you can't buy beer.

Reminds me of this one time I was in the city drinking and clubbing it up, and the bar was closing, this guy was passing out flyers to this "after hours" spot, so we thought we;d give it a look.

it was the sketchiest establishment I've ever been in. It was pretty much someon's apartment, with a bar in the corner of the living room.

that's cool as shit... i've been to one of those a time or two, mainly in parts of Brooklyn and Queens. That's where the shit goes down . . . . . Good place to score the breeze and other drugs.

THey also have a rule that allows liquor stores to be open on Sunday's, but they have to close one other day in the week. Well, that's how it was at least when a few years back they became allowed to open on sundays....

In Chicago most bars last call on Friday is 1:20am open till 2am and Saturdays 2:20am open till 3am.

There are after hours bars that are open till 4am but IMO nothing good happens after 1am anyway. ;)

You can't buy booze on Sunday's before 11am here.

used to be till noon until recently.


i know some bartenders in the area and i get to hang till 4 sometimes after hours which is nice.

Yeah it was 4am Sunday (when the bars close from "Saturday Night") and then not again till Monday at 8am.

Then it was noon on Sundays, but no hard liquor, just beer on Sundays, then the liquor stores could open on Sundays, like Fern said above.

And now it's pretty much whatever. The 4 hour windo on Sunday is a joke anyway.

It's the last little bit of pull that the Church has over the State.

Which is why the No Alcohol on Sundays thing was put in in the first place.

There was a time where most retail establishments weren't allowed to open on Sundays as well. But they realized they were throwing money away with that, so the lifted the ban.

in my younger years, it wasn't uncommon on a saturday to stay in til midnight or 1, then pop out for a couple at a 3 a.m. bar, then head over to the 5 a.m. bar. then back to someone's house for the smoking of weed and other shenanigans until the sun rose.

ahhh, those were the days...sort of.

the dude who used to host the afterness most of the time is married now. they still party, but not til dawn. it's probably for the best.

There's a decent mix of places here with 1, 3 and 5am licenses. There are a few that have 24hour ones, on weekends, where you can be snorting lines in a nightclub bathroom till after midday on a Sunday if it's your style.
